This game is pretty much accepted as the unoffical fighter made for metal fans. There's all kinds of random ass metal references EVERYWHERE in this game, and the actuall fighting mechanics are some of the best I've seen in a 2D brawler (Smash Bros is great also. \m/)

I was just wondering, who else has had a chance to play this epic as Rhapsody of Fire-on-crack game?

And yes, that character's name is in fact... "Ky Kiske" =D

I am not familiar with the game, but the background music is pretty cool. Other than the one character's name and the fact that each round begins with the words "Let's Rock!" I'm not sure I see any of the metal references. Am I missing something or do I just need to see more of the game?

It's something that you don't really pick up untill you get really into the game. Characters are named "Venom" "Slayer", "Zappa", and also Axl, the redhead who wears Jolly Roger shirts. Moves are called "Ride The Lightning, Gamma Ray, ect." Also, there's a giant zombie thing named Eddie at some point in one of the stage backgrounds/

Also, the new game about to be released in the states is using the Iron Maiden font in it's menus.

The wikipedia goes into a lot deeper detail.

I've played this on Playstation and I think the latest version just came out for PS2 a few days ago in Japan. I haven't played a fighting game in a long long time though.

If you want something with Metal references the anime titled "Bastard!!" is rife with them. The Wizard Dark Schnider has spells named for 80's metal bands.

I've stumbled on the "Ky Kiske" reference while looking through Wikipedia, but I had no idea that Guilty Gear had so many references! I'm definitely gonna rent this :D
