Shotgun wielding preteen vs. Home Invaders...

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.

Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.

When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David O'Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.


Ever wonder why good stuff like this never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news?

An 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself......against two murderous home invaders.......and she wins!

Now that is Gun Control!

This made my morning.

Although having 2 kills before puberty is probably going to become a pretty huge psychological scar for her. I hope her parents sit her down and explain to her that she did the right thing and that she should be proud of herself for having the courage to defend herself and her home without going into panic.

I think she knows very well what she did and understands the dangers of weapons like guns, otherwise, it's doubtful she would be so proficient at wielding one.

I am very happy that this girl is fine and immobilized her attackers.

yeah... i found the snopes debunk shortly after posting, and for a couple minutes i removed my text and replaced it with, "text removed pending verification"... i put it back up though.

so it's either fake or old enough that the current sheriff had no knowledge of it.... if it's fake it's similar enough to the true story about the 11 year old boy with the .22 that's cited in the snopes debunk as to maintain the validity of my original reason for posting the article:

people defending their homes and lives against criminal invaders is MY kinda gun control!

regarding the internet as a means to verify or debunk a story involving a fatal shooting, whether it be murder or self-defense, i proffer the following example:

"in the mid '90s a man named Randy L. Grimes shot and killed a man he found visiting the home of his estranged wife and young daughter. Randy promptly disappeared and hasn't been heard from since. The story even appeared on the TV show America's Most Wanted... twice."

Truth or Fiction? if you're so inclined, go ahead and use the interwebz to prove or debunk that story... should be an interesting exercise if anyone cares to give it a spin.

i'll provide/make-up (depending on whether it's true or fake) more details if requested.

Not that I'm opposed to gun ownership nor I feel entitled to tell american people what they should do for their own good.
