Last week we had freezing rain, the next day up near 60 degree weather, back down in the 30's with a buttload of rain. Now it's floating around the 40's and 30's. Cursed weather won't follow tradition.
I just went out and took a bunch of pictures, but it was with my film camera, so they won't be able to be posted for quite a while.
I prefer my 35mm, it's an SLR with 100% manual control. my digital has no manual focus control, you can't turn the flash off, and it blurs really easily even at 2x zoom.
^ it does look pretty neat in the summer. the best time is actually autumn when everything starts changing colors, and that's when our apples ripen too.
and Kevin - I'm watching the news right now (7am'ish) in Seattle. You guys got it easy man! Yeah you got some ice, slush, snow... but we got a full foot of snow outside and ice is almost an inch thick on some of our MAIN roads, the back roads are worse. I almost wish I were there right now. You and I, we could have man time; drink egg nog, cuddle, snuggle.. y'know, just to stay warm.
LOL! I looked outside and it's not so bad, so I check the news and the traffic. Yeah, there are two stretches of freeway in this area that are huge, total parking lots. One is in Seattle kinda near Boeing, the other is the stretch of freeway between my house and my work. I'll be working from home today, not because of 1/4" of frozen snow, but because a 2 hour commute, which normally is only 15-30 minutes depending on traffic, isn't my idea of a party. Good grief, people: "Hey! It's snowing! Let's go park on the freeway!!!"
lol, yeah, both stretches of highway crossing Lake Washington are fucked, as are I5, I90, etc etc.
One guy interviewed on the news had a really intelligent comment:
"I have everything I need: emergency kit, studs, chains, and onstar. But i'm not driving to work, because a lot of other people don't have any of that"
No kidding! My father was born and raised east of the mountains and was plenty well equipped and experienced to drive in the snow. And yet, to the day he died (or at least until the day I confiscated his keys) someone would have to be having a heart attack to get him out onto the roads with a bunch of Seattlites in the snow. The snow didn't scare him, but we sure did. *grin* I love that I can work from home and log onto my computer at work as though I were there. It saves so much crap and whining and explanations and blah blah blah.
