Have we had a weather thread?

I don't usually have an office job but I manage the branch so I have to get in here sometimes. Otherwise, I would be out in the cold trying to work. Nothing like having your tools burn your hands when you touch them. Insert burning tool joke here:

^that happens to me a lot lately, ever since I picked that gal up on MLK Blvd in Seattle...

Seriously though, We nailed a tarp to our pumphouse and just holding the nails and hammer made me unable to feel my finger for about 10 minutes AFTER getting inside.

I've had to roll trusses in this weather before, it's not easy to lift those heavy fuckers when walking 2x4 walls covered in ice.

more snow in seattle

Going on 3 1/2 feet of snow mostly due to lake effect. I <3 my wood burners, been a toasty 80-85 in my house and shop. The wind chill was so bad the other night I had to take a leak while cutting some wood and the pee froze right up to my pecker, had to snap it off like an ice cicle on a roof over hang to continue.

Nah...around here, that makes sparkys. Having AC is kind of nice, at least. Sh*t; some people can't even find their cars now. Everything has no definitive shape. :Smug:
Shapeless indeed! I have a relatively large pond in the back yard. I can't see it. Everywhere but the actual recirculation pump froze solid and then covered with snow. The dogs have been running on it. Shit's piled up so high, I can't see the recirc from the deck anymore. It's all just one big white vast expanse. Front yard has little lawn ornaments on it. The snow glows in those areas at night from the lights under all of it -- wind blew the mini-trees over and the damn bear is just completely covered with the white shit. So yeah, that's a glowing big white expanse. My car's just a white lump in my driveway. I guess it's kinda pretty, but it's just so monochromatic.

Well, you can always chew 2000mg of vitamin C and go write your name in the snow like I just did. :loco:
...there's some color breakup.

you have all that snow, you're lucky, here it's COLD COLD COLD fuckin' COLD and...stop.
But some snowing would be really cool, in my town snows only once a year...and this fact makes me sad, and you are here complaining and saying too much snow and bla bla bla. Ok ok i'll honest, I envy you
Beautiful snowy pics...enchanting

The problem here is that we so rarely get this much of it that we're completely unprepared for it. It shuts the city down, but most employers aren't accepting the "excuse". They want you to drive or take the bus. Well most of the busses aren't running either and the cops are telling you to stay off the road. We've got such ridiculous urban sprawl that walking is rarely an option, and with the extreme cold we've been having, most of us don't even know how to dress for that, anyway. Rock, hard place. Hard place, rock.
