Metal is not a fashion. It is a way of life. :headbang:

Agreed.

Anyways.....I'm not usually made fun of for being a metalhead, but somtimes, I do turn a few heads. Usually from A&F wearing pussies.

I get called a Satanist by my school cause cause i like slayer!!!
hehe.. its interesting. I had an American friend who lived in Hungary for awhile. He knew me very well but he told me if he had told his friend at home that I liked Slayer everybody would have been shocked.. and think I was satanist... i was a 'bit' surprised and burst into laughter at the end

oh.. what would we do without narrow minded, ignorant ppl? ;)

"how can you listen to that? it's masculine music"
oh boy.. you'd have to tell them everything.
I'd say:"listening is something you do with your ears, you know... those things on the sides of your head."
And about masculine, if they think masculine music means it's for men, then they're a bit wrong. Masculine music is just music ending on an accented beat. Not all metal has that I think.

i cop lots of shit from my mates who are all into rap or punk. just general payouts and stuff, and them making stupid growling noises while saying things like "eat babies and rape grannies and burn churches.. raaaaahh!"
ignorant fools. i pity mere mortals :)

I know that one, I get that from the pathetic fools, thinking Pantera (only Metal band they've known, idiots) give death metal growls, pathetic.

I'm basically the only metal guy in my year level at at school. I converted my brother partly to metal, basically so I can leach cd's off him, such as Opeth and Moonspell.

Now there's 3 metal fans at school, me, my brother (year younger) and another kid who's someone in middle school, who was told of for his gothic look.

But there's a fuckload of Punk kids, and there the ones you have to watch out for. most metalheads are clever people, punks are the idiotic ones.

As for weird looks, yeah I get them, even funnier when I go to buy a newspaper or anything wearing an open overshirt with a metal shirt underneath, half the time they just pause when taking the money. It's funny.

I agree with both statements :D
But I've noticed that being a girl and liking metal makes it a lot more likely that people will give you weird looks - especially if you're younger. The weirdest comments I heard when I was 14 or so, because that's the age when you're supposed to listen to all these boy bands and be deeply in love with them and so on  Oh well, idiots are there to rule the world and make the rest of us laugh...

The worst BS I got about my metal look (generally in black with an obscene/aggressive/violent/repulsive Morbid Angel/Slayer shirt) was when I wore a spiked bracelet to school and it was called a weapon by the school vice principal  (ok, not very bad, I know. Definately not in the same level as getting beaten up). My girlfriend has been called "Morticia" because she wears goth clothes. Usually people tend not to get in your way because they think you'll spontaneously rip them to shreds. Most people also tend to assume I'm a satanist that holds blood curdling rituals. I was also asked once how it was possible for me to lead a happy life because I listen to metal. All in all not too bad but slightly aggrevating to be judged on several stereotypical views on metal. I guess most of the above has already been mentioned but hey, I'm a new member that would like to get posting.:)

everyone thinks im a suicidal satanist goth kid because i listen to metal and when i tell them i listen to death/black metal, they assume i'm talking about marilyn manson :bah:

i'm not suicidal. i'm agnostic. and i hate whiney goth kids.
