Have You Ever Had the Chance to Meet Any Bands?

Suffocation walked by me in a crowd, and a couple of them brushed against me. This just before I watched my friend get his album signed.

I had a conversation with Mikael (Opeth) after one of their shows, which was at a bar, he sat down and had a drink so I thought I wouldn't waste the chance and I just went over and said "Hey man". Despite his stage-antics he is a really nice, cool guy, REALLY fucking sucks that I didn't have a camera .

I got my album signed by Suffocation and shook Frank Mullen's hand. It was amazing.
Cool, I hope to someday get my favorites(David Vincent and Ihsahn) to sign my stuff and talk with them. Where'd you put the Suffocation album at while you were waiting on him after it was signed? They're coming to Nashville in late July, I need to try and go.:)

Could someone please tell me what's so special about having someone draw on ones albums/covers?

They made the albums, I don't bother getting things signed that often either.

I have only met some queer bands who live around me (a bunch of brutal death shit, metalcore.) I met a dude from Misery Signals the other night, he knew absolutely nothing about anything.

Umm... Sometimes I hang out with Hortus Animae singer/bassist. He comes to Ukraine for business time after time.
Also talk to some bands members on messangers or myspace, but it doesn't count.

It's really not that hard to meet bands once you're old enough to go to small bar shows where the bands hang out beforehand. As long as you recognize the guys, you can go talk to any of them.

Yeah.

And the whole trip of "OMG I talked to the bassist, and I touched his jacket and he's SOOPER NICE!!!" is... not unretarded.

I met Moonspell twice. Fernando was so damn nice, and I got a picture with him the first time. The first show, I only met Fernando, but the second show, my friend scored us back stage passes (via college radio) to hang out and interview the bands. While my friend Jon was interviewing Fernando, I hung out with the members of Katatonia and Moonspell. It was so awesome.

I talked with Mike from Moonspell about tattoos, and he was really cool. I saw him later taking two groupies into his tour bus, and even though he was in the mood for getting laid, he still went out of his way to say hi to my friend Jon and I. That guy is awesome.

The guys from Katatonia were really cool. I had a few discussions with them about whether or not it's more difficult to learn Swedish or English, and stuff like that. They're quite hilarious.

They were at a low point in the tour, though... So everybody was really damn worn out.

Met the Bush era Anthrax line up at a Tower Records meet & greet.

Won a radio station contest a couple years ago and met Tony Iommi & Ozzy and was in studio while they did the Rockline radio show..also scored the Black Box CD set.

Met Bobby from Overkill after their set at Gigantour last Sept.

I met christina scabbia and we paid for a room and did some naughty.

j/k

:waah:

IMAGINE!

On side note, people who want people to sign their items or are willing to wait in a line for long periods of time are stupid. Fan-boy-ism is lame.
