headphones / speakers

so I am just listening to Deathspell Omega and this band on speakers, is just a ludicrous mess ... headphones is the way to go here.


what are some bands that are best appreciated on either of the above?

that last DsO album is a ludicrous mess no mater what you play it through.

speakers..headphones....all seems the same to me. Although, on albums like La Sexorcisto, with all the samples and whatnot, it's easier to hear them while listening to headphones.

I prefer speakers. I have a Sony Digital Media Control Centur surround sound system. Works real well.

You use all 5 speakers? That usually sounds like crap, imo.
(Although I havent heard music in that format since 2003 so maybe something's changed)

I'm pretty sure you can only hear the last word with headphones.........or risk blowing your speakers. I dunno. I never tried it.

This album finally hit while listening to on headphones. So many subtleties.

I'd say 99% of the extreme music I listen to, I listen to on headphones. Conversely, 99% of the Power and Prog Metal I listen to, I listen to through speakers.
