Headphones

KOSS, which were cheap, owned the living shit out of my big studio geeky headphones. They are finally starting to wear after a year or so, but the sound is still good. There is a rubber thing that came off the into the ear part which now dangles on the cord. The paint wore off from me levering them into my ears (they suck unless you have them in snug. otherwise it seems too loose.) GOd, I can listen as loud as I want without others hearing. It is way too easy to lose my hearing with these things.

I don't use headphones, i use this:

haha! That 5.1 system is my life. I can barely listen to most ambient/industrial music anywhere else. It was for that room that i made Passion Immortal. The room goes absolutely pitch black too, once i tape over the electronics :p

Wtf do you live in a one room apartment or something?

I'd much rather have my Klipse 5.1 that cost 240 bucks AND a big place rather than a huge ass stero that I can't crank up high and a small as room.

But of course I don't mean that if that's only your bedroom. In that case...:notworthy

that is my only beef. I look like a complete idiot walking around with these huge fucking headphones on my ears.

But why is it on top of totes?

you don't want speakers sitting on the floor because then the sound goes...into the floor and shit. if the speakers are up off the ground, the sound has more room.

er something like that. I'm sure somebody can explain it more eloquently/coherently than me

haha, that's the room in my basement :p i use it only for listening to music like that. The place i have right now is pretty big actually, there's one floor with the kitchen and the living room and a bathroom, and upstairs with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and another room with my computer and guitars and stuff. The basement is just that tiny room, but it's good enough for what i use it for. Nearly perfect, really.

So the sound fills the room more. Like the other guy said, having them right on the floor CAN cause extra room noise. Ideally i'd want those up on stands or cement blocks (cement works really well for stopping the sound from being transmitted), but for now they are ok. I'm moving soon-ish anyway and it'll be set up differently. Plus, i am usually lying down on that bed... it works even better to have the speakers nearly up to the roof and pointing a bit downwards at you if possible, but that's a bit difficult to do. When i had smaller satelite speakers for 5.1, i had them set up so every speaker was above my head and pointind down at me.

Yes they do, but why are you going around with headphones on in public? I like to listen to my headphones when I am in my room shut off from all other noises. This way I don't have to crank the volume up to drown out other noises and in the process hurt my ears.
