Headphones

Are those Grado-325 ones noise-cancelling?

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I'd like some more opinions. Alot of you guys name brands but not models (which I need to make a decision). I currently have a pair of KOSS (don't know the model #.... but they were in the $50 range). They're great but they aren't noise cancelling... which I REALLY want for when I'm in the car/plane etc... I, like alot of you apparentally, like big ones that cover your ears... any reccommendations?

I've always used big ass headphones. Right now i use a pair of Ultrasone HFI-500 DJ1's which are pretty bulky. I hate how they make my ears "sweat", but other than that, i find these kinds of headphones always beat ear buds of the same price.

I hate ear sweat too! It is a major bummer. I am normally awake many hours past most people in my house so headphones are a must most of the time. Actually most people yell at me to turn down the music during the day, so headphones are my best friend, but after a few hours the ears definatly start sweating. :erk:

Which ever cheap ones I can get my hands on (or nick off one of my siblings) that work properly, as long as they're not the in-ear plug style ones, because I hate those.

I use a cheap $10 pair of Phillips earphones, and they're some of the best I've ever used. I, too, used to use mainly headphones because they had overall better sound quality than earphones, but this pair I'm using now has better sound than most headphones I've ever used. I've only used them for about four months so I don't know about longevity yet, but we'll see.

Umm...

I have these.

Only like 20 bucks. I've had like 4 other pairs of different headphones in the past and these ones seem to last longer.

nope. noise-cancelling phones are usually crap compared with open ones.

I use these:

Those are TDK CP - 100. They are good, I am suprised that they still work. I use them for 3 months now. In other headphones I had always the problem of one "deaf" headphone after 3 fucking weeks.

I bought a pair of Alessandro MS-1s. I only got them today though so it'll be a while before they are broken in enough to tell just how good or bad they are.

They're modified Grado headphones, so supposedly pretty good.

I use KOSS at current, can't afford a good set as of yet, the problem with Koss is that the wires are more or less crap if you happen to live in a cold country.... at least on the Portapro and another model that i don't quite remember, hope i have better luck with the set im using now

I'm currently wondering what kind of amplifier to get for my headphones. I'm not the kind of guy who buys $5000 Straight Wire braided gold bullshit interconnects, but I just can't put up with my laptop's horrible sound card. Right now I use Sennheiser HD-555 headphones. So what can I get for around $120?

I had two sets of KOSS headphones. The sound was good and they looked pretty cool, but the wiring always fucked up. They kept coming out when they got pulled on a bit. The headphones I have now are way stronger.

Heard some good things about Philips but acctually think i´m gonna go for Sony now, the 5th koss in a row fucked up a few days ago, breakage in the wires.... as usual ;) 4 out of 5 have had that defect, mostly due to the climat normaly although this one was a mystery. Damn i´m sick of KOSS

Got my iPOD for free, given to me cause my brother won a video. It's one of the old school ones with the four buttons above the turn wheel, i have no complaints. I love me old school iPOD.

Yeah! I found these iPod sound-cancelling ones on my Dads table (that was when he was ordering loads of shit off eBay). Yeah they're pretty good, they're pretty much identical to the normal iPod headphones except they're fat, sorta, and they cancel out sound. I don't like wearing them though, coz they don't fit properly in my ears.

I only wear headphones that cover the entire ear. I refuse to wear those stupid little ones you insert in your ears. They don't sound as good and they feel terrible.
I agree completely
That's why I use prehistoric SOVIET headphones (made in 80-s)
ТДС-3 (телефоны динамические стерео)
Pity I have no photo of them - they are enormous large.
but they sound pretty well!
