Health Update!

Got some pretty sweet news last week! It seems I am all cleared and activated on the UNOS kidney/ pancreas transplant list. They have told me that the call could come at any time. However they dont think it will happen before Progpower, but it might. They have told me to go ahead with travel plans and if the call comes while I am in Atlanta I obviously need to pass. But the great thing is I dont lose my place on the list and get the next one. They say I should be called BEFORE October. So if you see me down there, you see me, if not, you know where I am. YAY.

When I first read your post, I thought that “take a pass” meant take a pass on the rest of ProgPower, not the Kidney! Now that’s dedication – you should get some special award for showing up this year.

A friend of mine had a kidney transplant 10+ years ago. The first couple of months of recovery were challenging, but then she was back to kicking ass and taking names! And my guess is that the surgical process and the follow-up treatment have gotten even more sophisticated over the last 10 years.

I seriously hope you would get the transplant when available and not put it on hold simply because of PP.
