Okay, after listening to Song 1 (which will get a review on the review thread tomorrow), what drums program do you use (I know Hearse already told me but I can't remember :( and can't be bothered to find the thread), where can I get it, and will it cost me anything?

Cheers

Hearse and Orchid are both away at the moment i think, so ill answer -> They use Fasttracker i believe...

I dont know if its supposed to cost money, i have a feelings its freeware or shareware, i definitely know there are similar programs like ModTracker and the like which are free.. but theres always ways around that whole money thing anyway.

On a different note, i managed to improve my drum sound 1000x last night as well.. :)

Just replaced my drum sounds with better wavs :)
My drums sound far more realistic now, and i can do more extreme beats... its cool :)

Yeah, we use FastTracker2, an old DOS-based software (freeware these days I think, 'cuz the group - Starbreeze - that developed the program has discontinued it and split up). It's nothing fancy, it's pretty sucky, actually, but we're too lazy to learn how to use another program. ;)

The drums are free wavs that we've gathered from all over the net over a few years' course.

The problem with FT2 is that it converts all wavs into some obscure format, which means audio loss. I recommend getting one of those Win32 based trackers (if you want to do your drums with a tracker, that is), which can use genuine 16bit 44.1kHz wavs. Another minus is that FT2 doesn't stay in time - it lags a bit all the time. Not much, but still...

We're not going to make any more tracks with FT2. If we ever record something at home, we'll learn how to use Cubase or something similar.
