Heartwork > Slaughter of the Soul

understandable.... it doesn't really bother me, i dont like to compare both old and new ATG though, as i think everything they have released is top quality in thier own right, although in the end i do find the older material more rewarding. my taste in ATG's best material is strangely similar to Guardian of Darkness's as i think that tracks 2,3,4, and 5 off "With Fear...." are ATG's best songs.

Both are excellent, however I listen to and enjoy Slaughter of the Soul much more more, but I have more respect for Heartwork.

At least weve moved on to comparisons, and not the standard what is your favorite metal album shit.

Yes. Comparisons are nice.

I prefer Heartwork's classically structured solos and rapid tempo shifts. Much of SOTS is bass-snare-bass-snare.

ATG at their peak would not be slaughter, but red sky and terminal spirit. The swarm and raped by the light of christ are two of the most perfect death metal songs ive ever heard.
