Opeth's songs are so long, and even the heaviest ones contain some mellow sections, so alternatively we could seek for the heaviest part in a Opeth song, not the heaviest song overall.
I've come up with some ideas.

Darkness encloses... and the following growls (IMSWS)

Voted for Mist because it sounded so brutal last night. (once again)

Damn... I voted for Wreath but I think I'll go with Blackwater Park... Wreath is more brutal and extreme rather than heavy. I'll go with Blackwater Park since its heavy and has a kind of building up to extreme heavyness-feeling. sort of... imo

Wreath is definitely a very have song. It's not one of my fav's, but it does have a sick solo. BWP has a very evil solo that I love.

I'm surprised BWP has so many votes. The heavy parts are pretty heavy, but heavier than the heavy parts of Deliverance ???

I was going to choose Karma, but I think Master's Apprentice just beats it for me.

yea I don't get it either, PARTS are heavy but as a whole song it isn't compared to say Blackwaterpark for example..

I meant to post this in this thread sicne the other is supposed to die, I think.

Blackwater Park has got to be the heaviest. It is a constant heavy after that little guitar bit, and it just feels so heavy and dark. Karma is close. I like Karma more, and that last minute and a half is insane, but overall Blackwater is heavier, methinks.
