their epic stuff like etsof, celts and headcult are better than the black metal imo. leave the bm for mayhemic truth

more hammerheart worship, please

Celts is still my favourite Morrigan, but I never got into Headcult. Enter the Sea of Flames and Plague Waste Death are fantastic albums too. I need to hear The Damned some time soon... would someone care to upload a track or two?

Headcult is great, but this goes beyond Hammerheart "worship". These fuckers are a pure clone, right down to the singing chants (albeit all on key). I'm not sure why they're not chastised more for plagiarizing.

Because they do it so fucking well. Also, they still used harsh vocals with the Hammerheart influences, which makes it all totally different, you see.

exactly. they do it well and use the harsher vocals, the same way graveland did during the middle period

yeah, I'm in agreement here now after listening to a few of these releases:

1. Headcult :kickass: :kickass: :kickass:
2. Celts :kickass: :kickass:
3. The Damned :kickass:

The first 2 albums don't grab me like those 3 above. Haven't heard "Samhain" yet.

I will say, however, that while Headcult seems to be the best release, their best song is on Celts: "Giants in Stone".

Awesome awesome stuff.

Vikingligr Veldi really couldn't hold a candle to Morrigan's weakest album.
dude

what in the name of fucking hell is this shit that you once typed on the internet

it's not that i don't like morrigan but they were really a flavor-of-da-month band, were they not

when did anyone last pop in and listen to a whole morrigan album, honestly

last week i listened to the self titled two times, and hammerheart once. probably twilight of the gods at least once too, don't really remember. twilight of the gods is the one i play the most, it's in pretty constant rotation tbqfh. blood fire death and requiem every now and then.

the ones i DON'T listen to so much anymore are the return.... and under the sign. nothing wrong with them but well

never forget: bathory is the best band then, now and forever. hail the hordes.

Blood Fire Death yesterday, and various Bathory often. Yesterday I also listened to Over Bjoergvin Graater Himmerik for the first time in a while, it's still very good tbh.

Bathory is a band I listen to every week, at some point or another. Maybe a favorite song here or there, or a full album, but along with Maiden and a few others, Bathory transcends phase, mood or time.

Thanks to this bump I spun Enter the Sea of Flames and befell to the siege of a 1000 ships of metal pillaging my breast. Morrigan stands the test of time brah, pretty much the best derivative metal act to ever release a catalogue of gems. All praise goes to Bathory, but don't knock the knock offs when they are top shelf. If Scarlett Johanssen dresses up as Marilyn Monroe, believe you me, you'd want to fuck her. Furthermore, the only band listed in this thread who never won a place in my heart is Enslaved. Yea, they kick ass, but their work has yet to invoke me in to thrashing my limbs about convulsively without the aid of intoxicants. The rest of the lot gets my head bobbing harder than Tanner Mayes snorting a line. If I were to rank the lot, I'd put Morrigan right beside Bathory on the throne, followed by Helheim, Graveland, and Enslaved at a dead last. Sorry boys, I've blasphemed, but J.s no longer here, so somebody needs to pick up the slack and piss the forum off. Hazaar!
