Heya, so I'm almost (yeah, right) done with building our recording studio and the main room will be also a rehearsal space, for my band as well as for other bands.
The fact is that I'm not that keen on letting other bands use our amps, you know how things go when gear isn't yours and when the smart kid comes along and starts fiddling with buttons and knobs!!!
On the other hand, I'm not willing to spend money on some junk amps only for rehearsals, I'd prefer to spend on something that could come handy for recording purposes as well, still staying in the mid budget area, say 300-400€ per head.
We already have an Engl Savage and a 5150II, first things that came to mind were Laney VH100R or maybe some Marshall... Totally lost as far as bass amps!!
So, what do you suggest?

Maybe Marshall JVM?

Mesa Rectos?

Bass amps....I'd say Ampeg, as you can get pretty good quality for decent price. Not really sure if that's fitting your budget though.

in that price range I would either buy one of these new:
http://www.thomann.de/gb/bugera_6262.htm
http://www.thomann.de/gb/bugera_333_xl.htm

or try to find one of those Jet City heads (50 or 100 watt, sold out at Thomann).

If you want to buy something used I would assume that the prices in Italy are similar to the
ones in Germany (+ - 10%) you might find some nice used amps, there's an Engl Blackmore
in ebay Germany for example right now for about 350€.

The Randall RH150, RH300, Marshall Valvestate, Peavey Vypyr Tube 120 (really digging this one),
maybe a Peavey Valveking, Peavey Windsor, Laney GH100 or something like that, if you don't
want that your cabs are getting used, the Harley Benton cabinets with Vintage 30s are quite
nice actually.
If your budget for a bassamp is similar I would buy a new one probably, there are some decent
ones out there that are really useable for rehearsals, like these:
http://www.thomann.de/gb/hartke_lh500.htm (nice amp)
http://www.thomann.de/gb/ashdown_little_giant_1000.htm (that one is dirt cheap right now,
in the beginning it cost like 800-900€, little thing that is extremly light weight, cool for gigs)
http://www.thomann.de/gb/ashdown_mag_300h.htm (bigger, ugly, sounds decent)
http://www.thomann.de/gb/kustom_de300_hd_head.htm (sounds nice, is loud, heavy)

there are some nice old peavey bass heads, forgot the names, there are quite a few, really
ugly but sound cool, dirt cheap and built like tanks.

Hmm, some good suggestions there.
I think I'll probably go for 50 watters, 100s are quite useless for rehearsals after all, and I think the Jet City heads are quite tempting for the price.
I wouldn't really go for "something you dont mind getting wrecked", since I'd like to give my clients some good gear for a reasonable price, and also for the fact that I'd like something that could be useful for the studio as well...
For bass, Ashdown was one of my choices, also Mark Bass has some interesting little toys.
What about drums? That's going to be a bitch...

I would avoid Ashdown bass amps, they break ALOT. Mark Bass are great but maybe a bit expensive? Peavey bass amps are actually really solid.

For drums maybe try and pick up a second hand Mapex M Series. Birch shells and they sound GREAT with decent heads. You should be able to get one for less than £200 (I got mine for £80!!!)
