My favorite Hate Forest is still "Purity". Very different from Battlefields though. Relentless cold black metal with epic scope.

The problem with "Resistance" and "Sorrow" is that the songs cut off abruptly without warning. Would it have killed them to at least fade them in and out?

Battlefields is awesome, but I don't think Zod would enjoy it.

Correct you are. Didn't spend much time with it. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure I got through it. Didn't care for the music, or the interludes between tracks. Oddly, I do like Drudkh (same guys, right?).

He might enjoy something like Diabolical Masquerade, though.

Any particular disc you think I should check out? Thanks.

DM is/was the side project from the guitarist in Katatonia. As much as I dislike it, you might enjoy Death's Design.

Maybe try some mid or latter era Sigh as well.

I was listening to Suidakra earlier. You might actually enjoy them. Melodic with folky touches, clean and grim vocals. SOmetimes female vocals. Lots of acoustic type interludes. I enjoy them a lot for those easy listening times.

Though I've heard they went metalcore-ish with their latest, so gnore it. Go with Emprise to Avalon, The Arcanum, or Auld Lang Syne.

Who knows, you might actually enjoy latter Graveland, such as Creed of Iron or Memory and Destiny or Fire of Awakening.

Their most recent release is horrid. They definitely went for a more commercial sound, and failed miserably. The one before that wasn't bad, but didn;t spend a lot of time in my player.

I tried "Dawn of Blades". The copy I had was pretty crappy. That singer has a horrifying scream. The first time I head it I nearly crapped myself.
