I recently replaced the bridge 707 in my Schecter C7 Hellraiser with an 81-7. It was just a straight drop-in replacement because of the quick-connect. Problem is, though, that it hisses rather loudly. I don't remember the 707 hissing like this. I don't think I messed up installation (what can go wrong, really?), so is this normal for 81-7s or is there something wrong with mine?

Afaik one of the big things about active pickups is that they're very quiet in the noise department. So it would seem there is something wrong with the wiring on yours, or maybe the pickup is damaged.
