Haha exactly. It ought to occour to more people that it actually is somewhat strange that a practically theocratic society (which fervently hates freedom, as well have all been taught) beats the proud west when it comes to freedom of speech.

If I remember correctly, had this conference been held in Germany, all of the participants would have been arrested.

It is illegal in a lot of European countries to voice revisionist or doubtful opinions on the Holocaust. Apparently, questioning the 6 million Jewish death toll is anti-Semitic, as is criticizing the Zionist movement or the govenrment of Israel for any reason. This is complete, utter bullshit!


Edit: Another interesting story. Iranian President Ahmedinijad (sp?) was doing a speech on this issue at an Iranian technical university, and a protest erupted, including yelling, the firing of a firecracker, etc.

The President respondend calmly, with words, and no arrests were made. Similar protests at my school, York University, in Toronto, have been met with police brutality and subsequent trials for police officers violently abusing students and beating them behind closed doors afterwards. These police were hired privately by the university at a cost of hundreds of dollars of extra pay.

Apparently, one of the main sources was corroborated through a "confession" in English by a high-ranking German official who never spoke English.

Also, some sources say the Red Cross should have documentation of the casualties indicating something closer to 1 million.

Anybody who denies that the Holocaust actually happened is just fucking ignorant, but there are a substantial amount of criticisms to be made with regard to the official report on what occured. Some suggest that the Allies are partly responsible for many of the deaths late in the war as they destroyed Germany's infrastructure, including their roads, preventing supplies to come in to the concentration camps.
