Holy Grails

I might've gotten my hands on my personal biggest holy grail :D

Pain of Salvation's The Perfect Element (Limited Edition w/ Slipcase)

Kinda dont feel like starting a new thread, but 2 cds I bought, Helstar's Nosferatu and Forbidden's Forbidden Evil both claim to made in the year they debuted, like 88 and 89, does that mean first press? Anything cool like that? Or probably bootleg? any way to tell? thanks

www.rateyourmusic.com has all the catalog numbers along with their respective releases. Check that catalog number (on the binding of the CD case).

http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/forbidden/forbidden_evil/ (Under issues, the number is all the way on the right by the record company)

This website is much better for cataloging music than Metal Archives

Looking at it again, yours and mine are probably the same one and they are actually the CM re-issues if you notice the times of the songs

I'm talking about the Helstar CD fyi. I'm not sure which is the first press, but I would assume that the Metal Blade press came before the Metal Blade/Relativity press. I've actually owned both, I originally had the latter, but it had a hole punch, so when I found another copy (the MB one), I sold the other one to swizzlenuts.

some I can remember:

Ildjarn - Ildjarn
Ildjarn-Nidhogg - Ildjarn - Nidghogg
Spina Bifida - Ziyadah
Route Nine - Before I Close My Eyes Forever 7"
Recipients of Death - Recipients of Death LP
Hellwitch - Syzygial Miscreancy LP (obviously it was reissued)
Gods Tower - The Eerie demo
Chemical Warfare - Demolition Tape demo
Lugubrum - Winterstones
Barathrum - Eerie
Necromantia - Scarlet Evil Witching Black
Phlebotomized - Immense Intense Suspense
Black Sabbath - Headless Cross
Black Sabbath - Tyr
Aeternus - ...And So the Night Became
Morbid Angel - Abominations of Desolation
Pestilence - Consuming Impulse
Obituary - Cause of Death
Nazxul - Totem

some reissues I can think of off the top of my head are Sabbrabells and Amon - Call the Master! on LP (sans the track omitted on the NEP release and the CF cover).

Thanks to Benoit (ben_t) I have the first one, thanks to Bull Moose in Salem NH I have the second and...I can't find Tyr :(

tyr hard to find? wtf, got mine for like 5-6 bucks from walmart 3 years ago.

edit: well, I just checked amazon/egay and it looks like people are charging a premium for it now, but i'm sure if you dig a little bit you can find it for cheap still.
