I'll be at the show in Houston on the 10th...any fellow UM-ers going to be present? Since I will most likely be moving to the area in a couple months, it would be nice to meet some faces! Feel free to come up and say hello! It should be a great show.

I'm there

BUt I'm from Mexico, and I'm driving 8 hours to see "
the 'peth" .......well, I'm being driven by my mom, my aunt and her husband. Hah.

So yeah, I'll be there wearing a black t-shirt and jeans. I'll be instantly recognizable by the messy afro I'll be sportin' :)

That's awesome that you are coming up all the way from Mexico to see Opeth! I guess I'll have to look for the afro, something tells me a black t-shirt won't do me any good:tickled:

I will not be there, because I refuse to go to that shithole dubbed Fitzgerald's. Whatever happened to shows being played at Cardi's? Instead, the show is being played in one of the worst, rundown areas of Houston, where there is zero parking (unless you get there about an hour before the show) and tow trucks show up by the dozen. Fucking brilliant...

I don't blame you. The last time my boyfriend was there to see Amon Amarth his truck got broken into and his cellphone got stolen. I personally have never been there before, but I've heard exactly what you described. Ah well, it just happens that I'll be in Houston this weekend, and since this leg of the tour isn't hitting Chicago this time around, I figured I'd better go. :)

The Heights is not a really broke down area, several of my friends have houses there and they are pretty nice, its just that that part of the Heights is kinda crappy, and thieves know that everyone parks their cars and goes inside for hours, I don't drive there now that I have seen my friend's cars get broken into during concerts, I park my car at my friends house who lives 8 blocks away and I'm fine. Also, tow trucks do love that place, so watch that you don't park in front of a driveway since they are so shitty they are easy to overlook (happened to me). I think Fitzgeralds holds more people than Cardi's, but less than the Engine Room, but most metal bands wouldn't fill the Engine Room so yeah.

I'm been to and played several shows at Fitz. I've seen alot of broken glass but never had my car broken into (it helps that its a piece of shit). I always park down by that BBQ joint down the street.

Damn, the Engine Room is tiny! I saw Motorhead there and while it was cool to be so close to the stage, it almost feels like a joke in hindsight, to see them in such a dive.

I haven't been to Cardi's or Fitzgerald's though...

Oh and Azogue, thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can get some of the website. If not it could be OK, as I don't see the show selling out. I've seen people buying tickets at Queens of the Stone Age and Motorhead at the venue, both bands of which are much bigger than Opeth. And I'm getting there early (maybe I'll see you outside).
