How about bringing some Doom to Europe?

Awesome...do we have any influence whatsoever what venues you play? I mean like can we reccommend promoters or whatever? Im not sure how it works.

I know of a few places that would do this sort of thing. I mean they arent massive venues but they have a fair few pro bands that play (mastodon, deicide, black dahlia murder...) But dont you guys need a few shows there to make it remotley worth it.

I've mentioned this before but I'll say it again....one thing that could really help us, is people being vocal about wanting us to come play their area. Not just vocal towards us, but vocal towards the venues, their promoters, the European label (Candlelight), etc. If they receive emails and messages letting them know that we do have fans who are eager to see us perform there, then it only helps us that much more in getting the support we need. We receive messages all the time from fans in Europe and elsewhere, asking when we're going to play their town or country. It's good for us to know that we're wanted. But it would be equally good or even moreso, if these fans let the label and the promoters over there know how they feel. Because ultimately, it's those people who are going to decide on whether or not to bring us over to play and book us into their clubs or onto their festivals, etc. I could be wrong, but I think if Candlelight were to receive many requests that Novembers Doom be brought over to tour, then it could possibly mean that they'd be more willing and interested in making it happen. If it was all just up to us, the band, then we'd have already been there...several times by now! But unfortunately, that's not how it works.

If you have a venue in your area that you frequently go to see metal shows at, don't hesitate to mention us to whomever runs that venue (if you have the means) and ask if there's any chance of us playing there. If a club owner, or a local promoter, gets a call from our label or agent, it surely helps if they have heard of us before, particularly if it's because people have specifically requested to see us play. It might sound silly, but stuff like this REALLY makes a difference.

So honestly, in any way that you guys (and gals) can support us, we can use any of it, and we appreciate it. You can have alot more control and power over how and where it happens than you probably realise. But just coming to us won't do it. So keep what I said in mind, and thanks :)

Also, let me add, that the same holds true for the U.S. fans. If a club owner/promoter has had no feedback on us, or hasn't heard of us, it makes it alot harder to get them to book us into their venue, for just a show or a tour. We're working right now on trying to get more shows under our belts, so that we can build up more of a live reputation. But there's so many bands out there these days, the competition is fierce, and the people who do the booking want to know that the band they're booking is going to be a worthy draw. So again, telling us that you want us to play such-and-such club in your area is cool, but you're going to help us that much more if you let the people who run or book the club know about us too. That way, if and when we do go to the venue to try and get a booking, they can say "Oh we've heard of you guys..." and it really really does make a difference.

There was a full article in Terrorizer on ND back in summer of 2005 when The Pale Haunt Departure came out over there. Candlelight also took out quite a few ads for the new album in mags like Terrorizer, Metal Hammer, etc.

One can hope that ND's popularity takes yet another leap with the next CD. Pretty much everyone I've spoken to about the band loves The Pale Haunt Departure.

You know, that has been a thorn in our sides. For a very long time, writing this new CD, we kept comparing the material to Pale Haunt, and trying to out do that CD. So much in fact, it wasn't until we stopped being over critical, and step back, and view the songs differently did we realize we have something really great here as well. It's NOT Pale Haunt part 2, it's a very logical evolution. There's moments where the new material is VERY much us, and many more moments that are faster, heavier, and stronger then anything we've written. It's going to be fun to record, and even more fun to read the fans reactions to it.

Yep, the album is starting to really take shape now. I'm rather excited about seeing how it's going to all turn out. I'm very critical on myself and the other guys when it comes to songwriting and it gets tougher with each album. We want to keep somewhat consistent but at the same time still have new ideas and a couple of surprises in store to keep things interesting and always evolving.

Yeah, it's a terrible feeling to compare new songs to older material. I've done that myself with my music and the result really gets forced. I bet your new one is gonna kick serious amounts of ass as a result of that ambition to go heavier. It's a nice philosophy to remain faithful to the backbone of the music, while still throwing in fresh ideas. Especially when the fresh ideas include more Death Metal and general heaviness ;)

Looking forward to the CD!
