How did Therion change so much?

Well, they went from an average death metal band to a pompous wannabe symphonic band.

How they did it? I don't know, because my mind can't reach those levels of suckiness.

Therion blows. Listen to Hollenthon.

Hey now- Lepaca Kliffoth was very good- so was Theli. I liked the operatic Vovin, but with Deggial, the band grew stale musically( old scorpions guitar riffs everywhere with little addition to the music and horrible drumming ) . Secret of the Runes is awful- power metal with an orchestra- christ.

Listen to the first 2 Therion albums, they were better than average.

They were a technically perfect Death Metal band, they followed all the rules of Death Metal and their Death Metal is the most powerful and emotional Death Metal ever.

Therion are without a doubt the best Swedish Death Metal band, even better than Entombed(first 3 albums)

Entombed's "Wolverine Blues" is the best Death Metal album ever though.

Therion changed slowly. At first they were a normal death metal band. On Lepaka Kliffoth, you can already hear hints of what's to come. Then they started to phase out the growled vocals alltogether and replace them with only operatic/symphonic vocals. I have Symphony Masses, Lepaka Kliffoth, and Secret Of The Runes, and I like all of them, though I know very well that Secret Of The Runes is quite cheesy.

Dude, I've heard all of Therion's stuff. Their best was Ho Drakas or whatever. I believe it was their third release. I did like the vocalist when they were a death metal band, but THerion have never been engaging song writers. A lot f their albums are filled with filler, unable to capture the listener's attention for more than a song or two. And bands that follow rules are usually the most boring because they follow the rules.

Wolverine Blues isn't even death metal. It's death n' roll. Carcass' "Necroticism" makes everything from Therion look like Boyzone.

I'm a bit confused here. You say Therion are the best Swedish death metal band, even better than Entombed's first three albums. You go on to say Entombed's "WOlverine Blues" is the best death metal album ever.

Wasn't "Wolverine Blues Entombed's third release?

1-Death n' Roll isn't a true genre it falls under the Death Metal genre.

Maybe so, but Wolverine Blues hardly follows the rules you mentioned. Death n' roll is a sub genre of death metal. It's not death metal in its truest form.
