I am really wanting to start recording real drums.
Problem is, the space I am in right now is pretty much a furnished attic above the garage that is fully carpeted and stuff and functions as a real room. Walls and ceiling are pentagonal shaped. Its about 700 sq ft. So my question, what kind of treatment what I need to do drums up here and also what are a good pair of overheads? I'm probably gonna start recording just cymbals first and the replace the snare/kick/toms, mainly because I cant afford 10+ mics haha. Ive seen plenty of drum rooms that are barely treated and are almost square but they have amazing tones.

I've been looking at getting a pair of Shure KSM32's.

I'm looking for that really compressed cymbal sound (i.e. Joey Sturgis kinda stuff)

Any tips and recommendations?
