How do you like GRITTY Metal??

I've been looking for a project to test out gritty guitar and mix tones with, and I think this is a good one. Here is the link if anyone else wants to try.

And here is my gritty mix. Not my usual type of guitar tones, trying to step outside of the box. Aim was sort of that Opeth - Orchid type guitar sound, or maybe Entombed-ish GRITTY guitar sound.

Nice song man!

I tried to go with a very gritty, driven bass sound.
I didn't replace any of the drums just to give it a more natural sound.
Mixed it on headphones too (apparently it is frowned upon to bring 20 lb, 40 watt, 95 db monitors into the school library to mix) :hotjump:

Not my song, found it in the raw tracks for mixing thread. I am thinking that my mix is not gritty enough, too smooth. Have a few projects going on right now, but if I get the time I will try to get more grit.
