Something like "Mee-kah-el Uh-Ker-Felt" maybe? I almost always pronounce it like people pronounce "Michael", without an intention. I have from little to no problems pronouncing names of other members of the band.

I also just read some things on the main site, and found out that he named his child Melinda. I have an another question to ask: is it possible to change screen names? I didn't know this fact when I registered, and that I did under the inspiration of listening to Still Life too often, and now I regret my choice. I feel like a dirty child molester.

Mikael Åkerfeldt:

MI = ME (SAY IT FAST)
KA = KA
EL = EL
ÅKER = O(H)KER
FELDT = FELDT
=
Mikael Åkerfeldt.

If you want your name changed, go to the main UM page (where it lists all the forums.) Click on "UM Feedback," which is one of the forums, and then start a thread in the "Name Changes" sub-forum saying what you want your username changed to. I am pretty sure regular (non-paying) members can only use this function once, so be sure to pick a username you can live with...

Hope that helps.

His name isn't pronounced as Michael, but no matter what dumb americans won't stop call him Mike! Michael! so he gave up and says that his name is pronounced as Michael.

obviously. just think about all the glorious turkish inventions, and how few things americans have invented. errr...

What did America invent? lol
Most of the inventions come from Europeans, hundred years ago.

In a fact, Europeans invented(discovered) America.

I said americans being dumb as a metaphor(irony), but i can't do anything if you wan't to take it this way.o and lol if you got offended by that, sorry i didn't mean to.

Gee... I don't know.... let's see. The telegraph, the telephone, the incandescent lightbulb, the polio vaccine, that funny looking box called a computer you are using right now ......and to make sure this stays Opeth related... the electric guitar. I'm sure the U.S. Patent office has a few more things, but I bet you may have heard or used a couple of the ones mentioned. <--- that's a bit of sarcasm and dry wit btw. ;)

Out.:devil:

lol in other way if Luther did not invent Printing Machine probably Edison wouldn't have educated himself and maybe he wouldnt' have invent light bulb.

If Porteguese did not invent big traveling ships (i forgot th ename) Colombus would not be abel to travel that far maybe stll Indians would be living here instead of us.

etc etc.

well you can trace all of that back to someone else. but we're not talking about inspirations, we're talking about inventions. fact is: abraham lincoln invented the telephone, lightbulb, and television in the same day, and he's AN AMERICAN!!!
