San Francisco, about 440 miles away to see Hammers of Misfortune. Totally worth it, especially since they played the entire first act of The Bastard. :kickass: Also it doesn't get any better than drinking Anchor Steam beer in its hometown. :kickass:

Debating on travelling to Boston this Friday for a Kayo Dot show, which would beat my record by about 2300 miles or so. The only problem is that I'd have to drive 200 miles to the show, then 200 miles back to my hotel in NYC. That's only one tank of gas in a rental econobox, but driving 200 miles in an unfamiliar coast at 2am doesn't sound like my idea of fun... wait, yes it does! :tickled:

In Boston!? Shit, I'd meet you there but I don't get out of work on Friday until 8:30. FUCKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate work. Why can't I just get paid for being Doomcifer. :(

I'm thinking about it! You should go anyhow, looks like the place doesn't open until 9pm so I don't imagine they'd go on any earlier.

 x5000

How far is it from New York to Atlanta? That's probably the furthest I've done.

Re: Boston - I wonder if you could take the train? Getting back is the pain in the arse though....maybe hook up with some good looking Harvard chick and offer her anal for a good nights rest and a cuppa tea first thing.

"Hey baby, I'm trying to do you a favor and fuck you up the ass here!"

I could just wander Harvard like a vagrant until the morn, I'll probably look like one my whole trip anyhow. :loco:

College chicks rule. Anyway, everyone in Cambridge looks like a vagrant. If you flash some cash, the world is yours.

I guess Slovenia, although I was kinda planning to go around the same time the concert was. I guess Canada to see crytopsy next weekend will be quite a few miles as well.

Not too far actually, but in 91 I drove from Louisville to Cleveland (6 or 7 hours maybe??) to go to Lollapalooza, was at the show from the first note to the last note, and drove straight back to Louisville. Long fucking day. But I was only like 20.

Living in the middle of nowhere... I have to travel 2-5 hours for all the metal shows I want to see.

I've traveled to Buffalo, Cleveland, Washington, Baltimore, Philadephia for shows... which are all about the same distance (4+ hours) from where I am...

from Maryland to Red Rocks, Colorado ... ~1600 miles i guess

to see Tool and King Crimson
Now thats a hike! Hell of a show though, right? The Lateralus tour was fucking mind blowing. Tomahawk opened when I saw 'em, and I'm a huge fan so it was great.

Dear goat man, I'm getting goosebumps just THINKING about how incredible that show was. It was next to impossible to get tickets for the Los Angeles show but I was able to pay regular price. My buddy spent $300 on eGay for the second night's show out here, he said it was worth every frickin' penny.

The night I finally got in King Crimson... life changing. :Spin:

yeah it was INTENSE

red rocks is an awesome venue also

hey Nad ... I tried to score a show for you when you are in NYC, but there is like zero shows this week.
In Flames was supposed to play like a secret gig tomorrow at CBGB ... but that got canned also.

The drive to Boston is not that bad, but definetelly do not attempt to drive back in the middle of the night.

Bad idea, eh? Even with the mad avoidance skillz LA driving has taught me? :tickled:

I'll probably get a cheap motel if I go to the show, or do JayKeeley's Harvard bint idea.

hahahahaha ... wait till you come to NYC. What avoidance skills? You guys sit in traffic all day ...

actually it is not the traffic that sucks in the middle of the night ... it's the ride back from Boston which is rather uneventful. Know many a people that literally fell asleep at the wheel.

anyway, hooking up with some Harvard chick sounds more fun ...:headbang:
