How gay is this?

I have been listening to Poison lately. Why? I don'tknow.
Now they aren't exactly known for their musical talents, but for some
reason I have been listening to this "Best of Ballads & Blues" compilation
that they issued a couple of weeks back...
Now there's no Blues on there, there are Ballads.
The tracks that I feel are worthy of a spin or two are the tracks from
the Native Tongue Record. That one didn't feature that high strung "freak" Sissi
De Ville. I welcome any feedback from you guys.

*TVF=Thanks for The Hits discs brother.

It's gay alright, well, not literally.
Really, why Poison?
Don't start going gay on us!
Well, I think it had to do with their NT disc. After they rid themselves
of Sissy DeVille they concetrated more on the musicianship & also the
lyrics. That is a "good" record, I wish they would have gone more in that direction. I picked up their last disc "Hollywierd" not only was the title predictable but so was the formula they used in writing that record.
What was the killer for me was the production, I have heard demos by bands on a $1,000.00 budget that sounds better than that & also they covered The Who's "Squeeze Box." That was a great choice for them to cover, until they tried to record it. I think both Keith & John would roll over in their grave after hearing what they did with that song...
I don't know if that reason enough? I mean it could have just as easily been Warrant or some other band, I guess....

I listened to my share of glam back in the day but Poison was never one I could stomach mainly for songs like Unskinny Bop. I also had a personal problem with them for faking me out on their debut. I thought they were chicks and almost bought the album for their hotty appeal but found out they were dudes. After a sleepless night of all-lesbian porn and my heterosexuality intact, I moved on to greener pastures.

i was just playing with you, hope you wouldnt kill yourself, but with a lot of hair metal theres good and bad and you cant really brand "hair metal" as all shit. like i like twisted sister, motely crue, and a few others but then again not to say im a hardcore hair metal fan, poison had a few singles ive listned to and liked, but i dont own any cds, i usually only buy music with blast beats. not to say i dont own some down/guns n roses/ iron maiden/ preist like stuff but usually, only blast beat shit.

Slayer Baby!
I know what you mean. I knew you were goofin'.
And I understand what you mean when you say that
most of the "glam rock" of the 80's was "shit" for the most part.
There were few inovators, most were B & C copies of the originators...
That's what killed that genre, same with the grunge sound, where are they? Hell, Peral Jam is now like a something in the lines of Michael Bolton meets REM?! What the hell?! I too have just mainly been buying stuff from bands that have "punch" to them...

Newer Sepultura's not as good as their earlier work but it's still good. WAYYY better than Soulfly no doubt. I think I would blow goats to get money to get Roorback.

soulfly, i used to like them, but then im like ill have some real metal please. so yeah, post arise, i think thats last metal one they made, OWNS soulfly, ive heard some shit about roorback, wahts the deal?

I haven't heard a complete Sepultura record with the new guy.
This new disc is getting about as good of reviews as the ST. Anger disc!
The Max era stuff is the real deal. Soulfly is just a NuMetal copy of Sepultura. I personally don't care about either of these bands these days...

Trust me. Listen to Rumors, Unconscious, and Sepulnation with Derrick Green. It's quality. Compare that to Soulfy's shitty Seek N Strike (totally recycled from Back To The Primitive).

all the hair metal i've heard blows, Chuck Billy mentioned some hair metal bands that he said sucked!, so I must be right!

I don't agree with that statement. Chuck's brain must have been like silly putty from all the chemo. I always like the bevis & butthead type comments-"Suck." What the hell? That's the most generic statement I have ever heard in my life. It's the type of remark made by mental midgets. Chuck & you are entitled to your opinions, but I would bet old Chuck has some Crue, Cinderella, Ratt & possibly even Poison in his collection! It's just an act, wants to look bad ass....
