How good are your ears?

It it just me, or does it seem to help if you listen to a higher frequency, then go back to a lower one, and it's more audiable??! Brain fucking with me??! Because I can hear up to 19 KHz now....

I was listening with headphones and I heard 16khz really loud, 17khz barely. I'm 27

edit: I switched from the MacBook Pro's headphone jack to ProFire's headphone, now I can hear 17khz really loud and 18khz barely. It seems that headphones aren't the best possible for this test.

i realized some weeks ago that i have some hearing-loss on my right ear...
16kHz is ok on both sides, 17kHz is louder on the left ear, comes 18kHz only from the left side... fuck audible altimeters in skydiving! (117dB high-pitched noise in front of the right ear...)
is my "carrer" as AE now fucked-up? ;)

20Khz, when my cans are at my normal listening volume but if I crank them I can barely hear the 22Khz one. I'm 17 :)

EDIT: for age and spelling

If I crank these shitty little dell speakers I can def hear 22 but is this a valid test or what? Because 22 sounds lower in pitch than 21. age: 26
