You don't even know what metalcore or thrash is. Triviums plays metal but their music is very thrash metal influenced, there are NO elements of hardcore in their music and they have no hardcore bands in their list of musical influences. The band themselves have said that they are sick of the metalcore label being thrown at them because they are in no way metalcore.

I don't think that some of you know what they're talking about.
Hardcore elements are:
- Aggressive shout/scream vocals
- Break downs and mosh parts
- fast speed

And that elements are in the trivium sound! But it's not a bad thing...when you put that things togehter in a way that kicks ass nobody has anything against that. And yes I know some of that elements were used in other genres before...but not in this density and combination > so people call it Metalcore! You can also say that it is aggressive (Death) Metal or Modern Metal. But it's something other than Thrash!

So please, stop this hole trivium fan war shit!
 
lol how do u figure amarth is better than cob and trivium ..... amon doesnt have very much talent compared to these guys ... im not trying to be an ass but i would love to see amarth do the harmonys that bodom and trivium pull off ... i understand that this is amarths messageboard ... but u have to realize when someone has more talent

Those elements are not just hardcore specific as you even admitted. I said they were just metal but some people want the damn sub genre too so I said they are thrash metal since their music is closest to that than anything else. If you listen to their riffs, read their lyrics, look at their influences you'll see that. But I don't expect the haters to do that so that's how they get mislabeled.
 
Music specialists on a forum, it is filled with the "know-better than you" on here ... especially been the case in the past weeks. Reminds me of the old thread abour AA being melodic death .... give me a "yawn".
I think I will retire from this forum sooner than thought.
This whole tour with Trivium and its 14 yo MTV crowd fan base has turned this forum in a back and forth troll war.
Sure would not have happened if AA had toured with Napalm Death or Vader or any worthy metal band for that matter.

Yea I tried that but after 4 minutes my ears started bleeding. Just to fucking metal core for me...

And you should get the cock out of your mouth and listen to some real metal, not that queer singer from Trivium.

But next you said that they are Thrash Metal...no you can see how stupid this argument is. So please listen to your stuff. I realy want to argue with guys which can't be objective....just making silly jokes with sticks and so on.
Listen to your music! I give a damn fuck about trivium. You should also do that with AA's music.
 
Because I DID take that stick out my my ass, used it to push the Trivium disc into my CD player and them 6 seconds later I used it to push the eject button when I heard the shit that was coming out of my speakers.

Ok looks like you have no understanding of what I wrote so bottomline is: Trivium is a metal band but if you going to be nitpicky then they are thrash metal not metalcore. I find it funny that some people think they know better than the band themselves what type of music they play. And sorry to disappoint you:) but I like AA's music a lot, they have great songwriting skills.
 
I have to agree 100% with what Belgar said. This thread would not even exist if AA were on tour with a worthy act.
 
It is sad that AA is opening for a band such as Trivium. However, it would without a doubt be worth it to see AA play along with children of bodom. The first time i heard trivium, what came to mind was Slayer ripoffs, thats just me. But lets not get too hyped up about that because AA are vikings and I rest assured that if trivium ever fuck up a show the guys would slay them with their battle axes, no questions asked.
