I'm in the market for a low watt tube amp for my studio, and I'm really lovin the tones I've heard come out of the mini krank.

However, I do record a variety of styles, and I was just curious if any one had some samples of the different gains and sounds (besides high gain that is) that little thing can shoot out, or if you could link me to a couple.

Thanks alot guys.

it's versatile as crap, IMO...not only does the distortion channel have a ton of tonal options with the sweep knob, boost, and FX loop boost, but the clean channel can be utilized to get a wide range of sounds as well

If the Rev Jr is anything like the regular Krank Rev1 the cleans are going to be beyond ridiculously crazy good. That's one of the reasons I got sucked into buying one, but ultimately the 6505 won out.

I hope someone can vouch that the cleans are as good as the regular Rev.
I used to own one way back when they first showed up around the local shops.

Not to drastically change the subject, but I was also somewhat interested in the Tiny Terror. Now I know for a fact that the TT is about as versatile as it gets, but I really love the krank distortion.

Well I wouldn't say the TT is particularly versatile, seeing as how it has a grand total of ONE tone knob ;) But here's a clip I made of mine (before I sold it :() that I'm quite proud of!

that sounds amazing man! great clip

yeah i definitely didn't notice the TT had only one tone knob :goggly: oops

Did you use a TS or anything in your signal chain?

Thanks! Yup, TS7 with the usual low drive and middle tone/level settings, into a Mesa Stiletto 4x12 mic'ed with a 57!

The Rev Jr. standard is pretty f'in versatile. I'm working with an indie rock band right now and we went with the Rev Jr., sounding great so far. It sounds great for metal, DUH, and rock, used with my Strats for blues tones (killer dirty blues sound), and the cleans are great as well. All through my Mesa 4x12...doesn't get any better than that :)

A big part of the versatility is the sweep knob, nudge it just a little bit and boom - totally different set of options to go with on all the other settings. The boost for the gain is a nice feature as well, great for when you want "just a little more." I really love my Rev Jr. man, can't wait to get a full size one!

It's usually the first thing I show off when showcasing the little fucker. The usual reaction is this: :OMG:

It's definitely the thing that surprised me the most about this amp, pristine crystal clear clean sounds.

Yeah, it's something that seems like it's been added to the Pro very last minute (cause on the pics on the Krank site you can't spot a presence knob on the Pro).

I have no idea how the presence is set on the standard. I guess it's probably middle-ground, which sounds very good, but I personally like the presence just a tidbit higher (for the grind), so I'm grateful for the knob.

If they had made the fx boost footswitchable, it would be perfect. But that's not a biggie...

Just love the thing!
