How we all feel about IMF09's departure

I liked reading his posts. He had a definite opinion, and wasn't afraid to state it.

Problem was: he had exactly one opinion and he stated it 1000s of times, in every single thread (even threads that had nothing to do with his agenda). Even though I agreed with maybe 75% of what he said, it got old really fast. Good luck to him elsewhere, but he brought it on himself.

God forbid someone stating their opinion on a message forum. What about all the idiots still calling for John Bush to return and Joey sucks etc. why aren't they banned? Why isn't that guy Antwax banned for constantly dissing Joey? Nobody should be banned though unless they are posting racist, pornographic, or purposely just trolling with spam advertisements etc. IMF09 may have been over the top but It was entertaining and rarely did he cross any line that would warrant being banned.

If you don't like someones opinions just ignore them. There is an ignore function on here. It's a fairly simple solution. No need to whine and complain to the forum police and get people banned.

Kirkland, are you actually asking me those questions, or are those rhetorical questions for the group? Because I've never complained to the mods about anyone, nor am I suggested that some of IMF09s foils shouldn't be banned (I thought your post #16 in the "open letter" thread was spot-on). I just use the Ignore feature and move on. I stopped seeing IMF09's posts months ago, once I realized he would never have anything new, different, or interesting to say - just one axe to grind, every single day. Same with the people on the other side who act the same way.

Also, I could be wrong here, but I think the moderators actually care about off topic stuff ("Keep shit on topic") too, and he was the master of copying-and-pasting his same opinion into any thread, regardless of whether or not it had anything to do with the topic at hand.

Half the threads on this forum are off topic. Including stompmosher posting videos of himself playing non anthrax songs.... so i guess he should be banned right?

Hmm, interesting point. I actually read the "Keep shit on topic" rule to mean don't derail people's threads - when a thread has a topic, stay on it. If you want to instead talk about your SOWN-hate, start a new thread.

If it does actually mean all threads need to be about Anthrax, then right you are.

The rules are ambiguous on that point, but I doubt it's the latter.

What's next? This place becomes the John Bush fan club, that's what since the majority of the people that post on here prefer that era. Hell, even the mod who's posting has "cupa joe" in his avatar so you see where this forum is leaning. The "open letter to Joey Belladonna" is more bullshit baiting and it's aimed directly at IMF09 and the forum members who prefer the Joey albums, knowing that he can't fire back and daring anyone else to go against him since the mods are his bodyguard. It's cowardice at it's finest.

He was a douche to others, but he never bothered me much as he & I argued on topic & kept it civil. I always kept the personal shit out with him and he did for me in response, I guess. Do I think he should have been banned? I don't know. I didn't like the "leave britney alone" video being constantly posted, mostly because the dude in the video is a seriously disturbed freakish fuck. But it's not a big deal. I suppose I would let him come back.

That's been in my signature since 2005. I just can't be bothered to change it. And it doesn't say bring back Bush, it says keep Bush in the family. He was a member of the band for over half of it's career...people on this forum are going to talk about members, whether current or former.

It's not like I'm promoting some sort of campaign or anything.
