While we're at it, who thinks EMG's sound sterile? Do you think dubbaya Bush really did win Florida? Suppose they had used Macs to count the votes huh? Did crocodiles evolve from pickles like I suspect they did? Am I the only one who's a bit scared of Angela of AE?

Well.......the sound of Killswitch Engage and Arch Enemy and even Kreator is not the sound that is going to make every type of band sound their best. That's not what you mean, is it? I couldn't imagine applying that type of sound to everything.

Now that you mention kse, whats with the guitar sound ? especially on rose of sharyn. The muted guitar parts in that song sound kinda broken, especially left side. Its like the cobras had gone beyond tasteful distortion. The guitar sound of this album actually stopped me from getting a framus. Make of it what you will, just an observation. Maybe andy can shed some light on what was going on with that sound?

actually, its on specific parts... from about 40 seconds in from rose of sharyn, thats what questioned my faith in framus cobras...
that's just a third guitar coming in only on the right and playig a different part... nothing "broken" there.. there's nothing different there about the guitar sound than anywhere else in the song.. just the way the part was played/layered.Familia><Publica said:

As i was saying, the broken sound is more evident on the LEFT, im astute enough to know whether or not it was a different riff that was degrading the sound. Don't patronise my observations. LISTEN to the rhythms tone on the left at 40 seconds, if you cant hear how it sounds "broken" , i'd be surprised. Listening through headphones, i took the right earphone off, to confirm my suspicions. Probably sounds dumb, but i know im not imagining things. Pissed me off, cause i wanted to like these amps, cheaper than the rectumfrier i bought for 500 quid more, which is a pile of junk anyway. Dont hate me for venting my opinions.....

On the other hand, I did get a very cool sound out of the 81 by lowering it a bunch and putting it through a jcm800 sim. mmmm crunchy. Still didn't sound good enough for the leads though.
