I almost forgot about the Morbid Angel show tonight

*Some skinhead dude in the audience got into it with Suffocation's singer, during the middle of a song. Frank Mullen cussed the guy out, told him to get his ass up on stage, got security to go get the guy to bring him up there, and then the dude wussed out and they escorted him out of the building. Keep in mind this was during the middle of a song, but the band kept playing and Frank continued once the skinhead was gone. Afterwards he explained: "sorry about that, but that guy called my drummer a my pals, and seriously, I was going to fucking kill him on stage but I guess he didn't want that."
That's classic .. I wouldn't want to fuck with Frank Mullen, that dude looks like and ex-con. There is a lot of mockery on UM also about Suffocation having black members.

It's amazing that in this day and age, people still have an issue with skin color. Of all the things to have a problem with, I would have figured skin color would be scraping the barrel in 2004.

What is wrong with people? Why does this music attract the dregs of society? This is the biggest problem I have with the recent rise in metal popularity. Just more dickheads to deal with on their latest bandwagon.

Are you fucking serious? That's sickening. What is wrong with people?

Why do either of you guys find it so odd that it still exists? Racism is more than alive and well, it's just talked about a lot too much anymore.

Cool that you had a good time at the show NADster. I'm very jealous you got to see Satyricon. :(

I'm not shocked that racism still exists (living in SoCal I see it every day), but that a metal fan would mock Suffocation because one (or two I guess) of the dudes are black. Who cares?

I can understand xenophobia to an extent, but the actual hatred of someone merely because of their skin color is just baffling.

They're skinheads, I mean, that's what some of them do. It's pretty much their doctrine. There are militant black groups who feel the same way about whitey, and I'm sure had this been a rap show, with some white member, it could have happened the exact other way around. Still stupid and all, but shit happens. There's dummies of every skin color.

Yea, I suppose the scales tip a little more in the direction of white supremacist groups though. You dont really hear about organizations like the Black Panthers nowdays.

Pertaining to the concert: They played Dawn of the Angry so I probably would have had a heart attack at the sheer greatness of that song. Im sort of split on Satyricon. Nemesis Divina is an awesome CD and the first two are great two but there obviously nothing like Volcano. However I dont consider Volcano really even Black Metal but more along the lines of Heavy metal with a blackened twist I suppose ( especially songs like Fuel for Hatred), and I enjoy some of that material in that way also.
