I finally heard Damnation...

Awesome, I picked up my friend's bass guitar a few days ago and I learned Windowpane today, it's real fun to play along to.

(I don't know it on guitar coz u need to use a capo and im too cheap to get one)

I couldn't sleep last night so was listening to Damnation. I think it's one of those albums that you like more the more you listen to it, I've been listening to it all the time since it came out and I haven't go bored of it.

damnation still grows on me every time I hear it. but how oh how can the growling irrate you? all you bleeding porcupine tree/dream theater fans! grr

I heard this album a few weeks ago and right from the first listen I liked it a lot. I had never heard any recordings by Opeth before (Yes, shame on me) but when a friend of mine made me listen to Deliverance I understood why. That's not my thing. So I wonder how this big change came about. btw.
I hear a lot of Camel influences in the guitarsolos.
That's great. It suits the album fine. And it has an awesome production by Steven Wilson. Good choice. It's definately one of my favourite albums at the moment.

at first i was irritated by the growling but now I've adapted to it I guess...it's sort of like another instrument to me. but I love his clean vocals.

Damnation is a masterpiece, and it is even Mikael's favourite album from Opeth. Thats awesome.

Anyway, my faves from best to, well...less great....
