I got called to audition for a touring band...

...and tour(or have toured) regularly with bands like Lamb Of God, Hatebreed, Soulfly, Otep, Slipknot, Snot, Coal Chamber, Obituary, Drowning Pool, Hed PE, Chimaira, Meshuggah, Korn, Ministry, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage and Slayer.

Seems to me a myspace page layout isn't everything, huh? lol

I wasn't meaning to hurt feelings with that comment , I'm sure they are a good band and all touring with Slayer and such , I was actually just kinda taken aback by how shitty that page looked. No offense man

Man, I'm not even remotely offended...I was just saying that the ultra nuclear artwork on 90% of the myspace pages out there has almost become dissuading. So many bands spend a bunch of money on a myspace layout that really doesn't give an accurate depiction of what he band is like at all. Some bands just don't give a fuck and figure their music/reputation/live show/etc is gonna carry them further than a myspace layout. I can bet you also that a band like this doesn't have to download myspace adders or spam people on friend trains to get 40k friends either. This is just me being observant...not being offended or even defensive in the least.

First time I saw them was the night Dimebag got shot....and they were who I found out about it from, along with several other people in the lobby of the venue. Slayer/Mastodon/Killswitch Engage/Hemlock in Billings, MT - 12/8/04. Saw them again in Spokane with Ministry/Meshuggah in 2008, I said whats up and Chad said "you were in Billings the night Dime got killed". I was kinda amazed he remembered me from almost 4 years before. Ended up coming up in topic that I was in a band, he gave me his phone number to set up shows with them here. This thursday will be like the 5th time we've played with them. The first time, I gave Chad one of our shirts...he wore it the next night onstage (again in Billings) for Type O Negative/Hatebreed/3 Inches Of Blood. Pretty cool for him to support us like that. His brother started wearing the shirt all the time after he rejoined the band...I noticed it in several pictures uploaded on their myspace. He bought another one from us the last time we played with them because he dug it. They've treated me and my band really well, so having them call me to ask if I'd be interested in auditioning is pretty cool.

I hear ya , but honestly if I just came across this page randomly without this topic , I probably wouldn't even wait to hear the music because the page looks SO unprofessional. Just my opinion though , it kinda reminds me of Tad Donley's Warrior myspace page. It doesn't have to be amazing or anything , I think it's just the colors and logo that really bother me here... once again just giving my opinion. Maybe when you get in the band you can convince them to let one of the artists on this forum redesign the page , I've seen some awesome work by people here

Thanks man, I appreciate the support.

Had to buy two of their albums off CDBaby today so I could learn more of the songs. Not that I'm complaining, I just figured one of my friends had the older cds. We all have the last 2 cd's, so I've got them well listened to now. Lots of homework to do still.

I actually posted something yesterday and the board went down like 5 minutes later. Now that it's back up, I see it's gone. Oh well...all it said was that I heard back from them, they gave me a list of songs that they knew they wanted me to play with them at the show (tonight). The list was based on the fact that the songs are still being played exactly as they are on the cd, while some of the other ones have stuff added/extended to make for a better live dynamic.

As of yesterday afternoon, they want me to go on tour for 4 days starting today. They have to come back through my town on Sunday night to get to their next stop (SLC), so they will drop me off then. They are confident I will have the songs learned, so all they are really worried about now is how well I'll do with bus life. Doing a 4 day run will get a taste of it in me and let them have some time to decide how they feel about things...after that, I might just be on their next tour in a few weeks. I'm stoked!

Thanks, guys. \m/

One thing that gave me a chubby today after seeing it online is that they are playing Rockstar Mayhem on 7/24 in Connecticut. That would include Korn/Zombie/Lamb Of God/Five Finger Death Punch/Chimaira/Shadows Fall/etc. That would be a pretty cool thing! haha

Good luck dude, If I had that opportunity I'd be shitting bricks..

After 4 days on the road with these guys, I've had a blast. I still await a final decision. I had to stay in town last night, currently at my normal job at the moment. I'll be playing with them tonight in Bozeman...I'll drive over after work to play the show, drive home after the show (~1hr away). I have this friday off, in which they will come back up and play in Billings...so I might do that with them too (over 3hrs away).

I might finish the tour with them if I can figure out how to get back home before next tuesday. Greyhound might be the way to do it.

I've seen some fuckin insane shit so far. It's been really funny and crazy so far.
