see the top 50 most played songs. I don't believe Anthrax will be one of
them. You can also (from the main page) look under "Formats" again, you'll
see "Station Playlists". Click on that, choose your format (Active Rock) and
from here, you can see the weekly playlists of approximately 70 rock
stations in the United States. I think you'll struggle to find Anthrax here
too.

The record was worked to radio this summer and the label isn't working it to
radio now. It's already come and gone and it didn't do squat. Out of the
hundreds of requests by phone or email, I might get 1 a month for new
Anthrax. Hardly enough demand to get me to add a record by a band who's time
has long gone. I was playing Anthrax on the air 15 years ago....

Thanks for the help in Iowa everyone-thanks for getting it started Maiden-All the Thrax fans in Iowa appreciate it.

I got a reply like this from him this summer when I asked about Safe Home. I wish I still had the email he sent. I posted it on the board awhile back. What an ass. He said all basically the same shit. I didn't think it would break KFMW's back to give Anthrax some love and maybe play Korn 5 less times a week.

Not everyone in Iowa is like this guy!!!

The people at 103.3 in Des Moines have played Safe Home some, and they'll usually play it when you ask for it.

I just can't believe that someone from a small station in Iowa would act so Big Time.

other rock stations were going to play, then I'd be on it. The truth is

maybe a handful of these stations will play it, the record won't go
anywhere
and I'd be wasting a slot that I could have given to a up and coming
new
band instead.

KNAC is an website radio station - not a real one. KNAC doesn’t have to worry about ratings & revenue like real radio stations do....that’s why they ended up on a website.

My response:
First of all KNAC was a profitable metal station in Long Beach, CA for 10 years. The reason they went off the air is because the owners made a lot of money selling the station, so it could convert to Spanish broadcasting; something really large in So Cal.
If they do not have revenue and profit to be concerned with then why do they sell space for web advertising, do give aways to promote tours,etc and sell merchandise as a secondary revenue stream? And believe me if nobody was listening to they would not have been on the net for 5 years now. Do you have listeners in North America, South America and Europe?
Maybe you should study their business model or do you prefer having to deal with angry listeners?
Lets go get his pussy ass thraxers :yell:

Holy shit-you're dad's from Des Moines? I live 30 miles up the road.

I went to a small college in Iowa that drew a lot of kids from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois. All the Minnesota kids especially liked to poke fun of all the "Iwegians" with the Idiots Out Walking Around, and other stuff like that. We could always get them to shut up by pointing out where they were at to get their college education :loco:

Frank: Radio is just as bad as MTV, only because you need a big label to even get you on the radio today. You need the label to push the shit out there because it’s all about the money, and whoever said payola is not alive and well is wrong! They are dead wrong, and I’ll tell anyone that. It’s all generated around money. It all revolves around money. I don’t give a fuck what anybody says, that is what is going on, and whoever says no can go fuck themselves with an iron!

LOL, good idea. Seriously though should we really be spending so much energy on this piss ant station? Sure the guy is a fuck and I'd love to put him in his place but his station just doesn't matter at all in the big picture.
