Hello dudes:)

I know the Album since the release..but I had a great moment. I´ve bought the (really worthy presents) DEATH double vinyl yesterday. I´ve played the record and realized suddenly, that this Album is the best Death Metal Album of all time for me personally. I know, there are many Death Metal records, which has a better sound quality, especially produced by Andy Sneap. But I speak about the whole thing. That shows me again, that performance is so damn important. What is your opinion to "the sound of perseverance" ? Am I the only one, who love this album so much ?

Wich Death Metal record is your personal fave, when you´d rate the huge whole thing ?

I adore SoP, so technical and yet catchy and awesome, what a killer album! Symbolic is awesome too, cuz it's more melodic, so I prefer it just a bit, but man, the band can do no wrong! However, my favorite death metal CD is definitely Behemoth's "Demigod" (ok, so some might call it blackened death, but fuck off, it's close enough :D)

Great album, but I have a couple gripes. I'm a huge Death fan, but I'm not a big fan of the direction Chuck took with his vocals on that album. Also, I'm not a big fan of the guitar tone. Otherwise, awesome album.

"Human" and "Symbolic" are my favorites, Symbolic being my favorite production and vocal wise. If "TSOP" had "Symbolic" production and vocals, it might just be my favorite.

\m/ R.I.P. Chuck!

I think Decapitated's 'Organic Hallucinosis' is my favourite death metal record of all time. That album started breaking down the boundaries between industrial/drone/ambient and death. They were seriously starting to hit some new heights I've never heard in metal, much less the death sub-genre.

TSOP is a strange one. There is some solid music on there, but the production is so STRANGE. It sounds so buzzy, boxy, dry and... loud.

I haven't listened to it in a long time, but I remember liking the drum sound on TSOP. I remember it being very natural sounding for a death metal record.

"Organic..." is amazing. I absolutely love the drum sound on that album.

I also agree about the production of "TSOP." The tone is just way too buzzy for me. It's funny, because his Valvestate tone on "Symbolic" is sweet in my opinion. Still a bit buzzy, but "warmer" sounding IMO.

Also, Richard Christy is a great drummer, but his style is just too off the wall for me. His fills just are too "rushed" and "random" sounding to me.

Oh yes..."symbolic" is, without doubt, a god album, too:worship:

I saw Behemoth on "the full force festival - Knüppelnacht" some years ago..damn, what an evil and loud performance..blood came out of my ears!! Technically it was outstanding. I´ve bought Demigod..and it was difficult to believe, that there were people at work and not machines:)

Yes, I still hold everything that Chuck did (particularly after "Human") as being some of the best metal albums ever made, and I particularly like the production and Chuck's vocals on TSOP, but as an album I think I prefer Symbolic.

Symbolic is my favourite Death album, but Perseverence is my second. Amazing album.

And Decapitated's Organic Hallucinosis is also absolutely brilliant.

Throw in Carcass' Heartwork and you have a Death Metal trilogy of total quality.

TSOP is Amazing, i do like the production, is not polished or too perfect, but i think it let´s the performance and instrument execution shines, as Exocaster said, drums sound very natural for a death metal record and i kinda like that, and what to say about Chuck, Chuck Ruled, he is so underated this days and i hate that, one of the tightest guitar players of all time, showing his dedication to the band and his contribution to Death Metal, his vocals changed on that record but i liked that too, really like the lyrics on that one, but my favorite DEATH Album is "Human" this is the Death Metal album by excellence, for me that is the sound of real and pure Death Metal, Technical yet brutal and raw. secondly, Individual Thought Pattern, Gotta love Gene hoglan´s Crushing drums and Andy laroque´s tasty solos.

Yeah..I see i´m in the right forum:headbang: I just listen to "Organic Hallocinosis" the first time..I wanna buy it on Vinyl, if there´s available. What a great sounding album! It´s peppered with some great and unique ideas. My first impression is very good..I think by this complexity it needs more runs for a final Assessment.

One of my favorite death metal songs is The Art of Dreaming by Golden Dawn.

http://www.goldendawn.at/ then sounds, Art of Dreaming album, and then the little mp3 icon on the left.

As far as whole albums go I'd say Soul Embraced's "Dead Alive". I've always been partial to Soul Embraced's work even though the production values have been horrible. Extol's earlier work I love which does have great production.

You´re damn right, man. Chuck was one of the best metal guitar players in the world and my absolute fave. I learned all death riffs to play until my finger bleeds :headbang:

But I never saw him live:cry: Did any of you ?
