I may have just nailed "The Way Of All Flesh" Mix...

Bass and guitars are pretty close, I don't think the drums touch the tone of the original though, they're some of the best drums I've heard. Snare is too snappy and kick is like a cardboard box (Sorry! :/ ). Cymbals are also a lot harsher.

Your mix is also a lot brighter.

Cool. Well I think the overall character is very similar for sure, but you must hear how your guitar tone is sitting very differently in the spectrum to the original? You have a lot of core/nasal midrange content going on which masks the background ambience and bass grit. The original sounds more hollow, which allows it to breathe easier.

Other than that it's very cool. Good job.

Very close, good job. The overall level was a bit too high, would give me the impression compared to the original it would possible fatigue the ears after a while. Guitars seem a little too forward too, push them back a little.

Theres no compression on the overall mix. This was a quick test, but I'm gonna work on this.

Guitars are TSS-> 8505-> Awesometime Impulse.

Bass is Ampeg SVX + 8505-> Revalver Impulse

Drums are Metal Foundry

If I mic up a cab, I'm sure I'll get a lot closer to the guitar tone. You'll hear more soon!

What you need is a better mixbuss compression for that glue. Then you'll be atleast one step closer. But good try anyway

Cheers

ive found that master bus compression was destroying my mixes and making them sound flat as fuck, so i've been mixing without one for the past few months while i practice making the instruments sit together properly EQ wise.
going for the jigsaw puzzle approach over the sardines in a tin can approach right now.
