I need a new computer

Hey duders,

I need a new computer badly, my duel core 1.73GHz is chuggin along, doesn't like very many plugins at all. So I'm looking to upgrade. I'm not very tech savy so any help at all would be appreciated. I'm looking to build a computer under a grand, I came up with an i5 build which is here vvvv

If this is a good build for the price (case and drive isn't on the list I'm aware)
please let me know, this is strictly for audio recording. If anyone has other ideas please let me know also.

go p55, not h55. It's a better chipset, the h55 is really aimed at the rest of the i5 family not the 750

You may as well go the whole hog and just a i7 CPU to be honest.
You're gonna want as much horsepower as you can possibly get, so you may regret not spending a few hundred extra dollars and getting an i7 based machine instead.

I think you would benifit from 2 320 hdd's, rather than 1 640. keep one drive just for your audio. other than that, looks pretty cool. building one very similar as we speak. just remember you can get more for your money if you buy stuff second hand on ebay or something!!

I agree, go with the p55. And look into the Caviar Black, the blue is just a standard home and business use, where the black if maximum performance.
