I need the Nevermore guitar sound

Dude, it's a good analogy... Look, I'd love Loomis's tone too, but it's not something I'm going to get overnight, and it's not something I'm going to get by getting a rectifier, etc etc....same with golf, it's all about practicing. it's not your equipment, it's you, your fingers, and your ears, and your determination.

OT like hell:- So what golfer would you wanna be like if you could be like any? :p

fyi the ch 3 of the road king sounds identical to the original 2ch blackface

the leads are searing in the orange vintage mode without being too over the top. the modern mode sounds toothier than ch4 as well. i've tried same exact settings in modern mode and just switched channels playing same thing. ch3 has less gain more midrangey chop to it. much more toothier.

please remember that the preamps of the console used to record that album are another HUGE piece of the puzzle which I have missed if it was discussed on this forum how ever I asked Loomis when we where practicing for the dead heart tour what he used and he confirmed it was a RACKMOUNT two channel recto stock that andy had gotten from mesa. he said it was stock and they put the ts-9 in there. also loomis was using VERY big guitar strings on that session 80 for the 7th string and 10-52's for the rest of the guitar. another thing to ask or find out about is what eq or filtering did Andy use going into protools, also any outboard compression for coloring or anything(classic 1176 with the all in trick on the compressor buttons. also was he using the protools converters or apogee or what. the studio they recorded at had tones of killer gear that I am sure ended up getting used. so to sum up it was not just the amp and cab. there are many variables in the signal chain that I have not seen discussed on the forum here. of course I have not sifted through the millions of threads that are up here so I could be wrong!!!

Love Curran
