Also this is kind of silly, but you know the song Kid A? I thought that song was just pretty cool, until I heard John Mayer's acoustic cover of it. And now it's like my favorite Radiohead song.

it makes sense, kind of, because john mayer's version emphasizes the melody and makes it really songy, whereas the radiohead version is really hard to penetrate. but once you have a context for it and can see how Radiohead fucked with its conventionality, it's easier to appreciate.
