OK OK, the actual painful part of the guitar is how much I paid for my J-custom and Prestige . The green one is the Jcustom and the blue with maple fretboard is the prestige.

The Jcustom I got with hardcase..... $800 out the door and ran I went!
Prestige was $700 but with only softcase, and here's the hint of why I got them so cheap, by having a job that lets you go to Japan like about 4 times a year and seeing what used shit stores want to clear out.

Ehh there OK, I think the prestige is better. WHen I think J-customs, I always think of the 8000 series then compare down from there...

Ya, I'm making the Prestige my main guitar as soon as it get setup right. Also its a rarity among Ibanez to have a Maple fretboard.

But that Jcustom i got is great, came with a great setup, inotation, and comeon $800, they easily go for $1800, only bad news is my playing ability does not warrant such a fine guitar

things are a lot cheeper when you buy them in Japan..there actually not even that rare over there, just here because they don't import them in the US.

Well yes and no, to get things cheap in Japan the yen rate must be in your favor, the item has to be used or old depending on the value the shop has on that item, and hopefully you can haggle your price down. Now as I got the Jcustom, some things were not in my favor such as the yen rate (it was 105yen to $1, think of 1 yen like being 1 cent) but the guitar was made in like 1999-2000 and had a small minute chip on the backside edge where the lower strap goes, and the killer part was the store really want to make space for new guitars coming in because I got it for about $100 cheaper than what their asking price was. So I was pretty damn lucky that time around.

The Prestige was just about the same situation but the yen rate was 120 to 1$ but I couldn't haggle them down in price so I got that guitar for about $700, it was used(2002 model) and had a few dings, but still you couldn't buy that in the USA.

Lastly I bought the Jcustom in Nagasaki and the Prestige in Tokyo, Ocha no Mizu to be exact and that place is the mecca for guitar buying.

I might be going to Japan in July for a install job but no where near Tokyo or a big city, but I'll be on the lookout for any japanese ibanez's out there and keep you all posted.

Well, try to get an 8000 series..its the best of the best..only 283,000 yen list! Just be weary of Jems over there, you know, with the whole Chibanez fakes thing goin on.

I'm so gonna start making yearly trips to Japan to go Axe Hunting when I get into college!

Least I forget, the model numbers of my guitars
J-Custom RG1880 (comes with Tone Zone, Blue Velvet, and Air Norton Pickups)

Prestige RG3270M (Comes with Paf Pro's and Blue velvet pickups)

If you go axe hunting don't forget to see the ESP shops there!

I am destined to own that guitar. I am destined to play that guitar at the sold out Once Beyond Purgatory dvd show thats gonna be filmed in Madison Square Garden.

here is a great deal on a swirled jem.

the only thing is that the pickguard needs a little work and the trem cover needs to be shaved down a bit.

but the guy put a maple fretboard on it and it is sign by vai!
