Iced earth - Dystopia (2011)

Iced Earth has made some great songs, and they're one of the most definitive gateway metal bands.

That being said, jokes at Jon's expense are always hilarious.

Yeah, Schaffer's done a pretty good job of making a joke of the whole damn thing. Matt Barlow's done a good job of sounding like a giant power metal Hetfield level badass, though.

Well, i've got the CD right here, listening to it now. Stu Block's definitely a worthy replacement for Barlow and Owens (though he's gotta stop the overacting), and the CD itself is more fast-paced than Crucible of Man was, so if you like IE, you should be okay buying it :)

Gave it a few more spins, and it's definitely a good album, so if you're an IE fan, you can buy it without too much worry. Seen them live too, on their European tour, and while Block occasionally struggles (the Tim Owens tracks in particular give him difficulty), he's a good front man and a solid singer. My feeling of, "Hm, it's a new vocalist" was gone by the third song, so that's good.
