Iced Earth

Matt Barlow is the greatest singer ever in my opinion, but anyway, Jon has always been patriotic, and has always wanted to make a album about US history, for those of you who jump to he has suddenly changed. Ripper...is good, but I don't think TGB's material was right for him, I think they would have fit MB better, due to the fact that they were written while MB was in the band. He supposedly sounded fine on the singing, but Jon said he could tell his heart was not there. Oh yeah, anonymousnick2001...shut up.

I Downloaded to see if I was going to buy the GB...after a listen through a few times, I passed on buying it.
It just lacked the something that grabs my ears. Hate to say it, but it's GENERIC. Barlow's voice was the extra something that made me want to listen to Iced Earth. Ripper does have overall better ability, but Barlow just had the emotion and power that took the songs to high levels. Without Barlow's vocals on Dracula or Melancholy, they would be just...there. Heck, even on a track like "Stand Alone", Barlow took a run of the mill Metal song to a level that just wants to make you throw your fists up!

I wish Jon and Ripper luck on their further discs, and I will give eatch one a listen, but...GB was just..lacking.
