In the german army (9month you have to join them...or make "civil service" for eleven month) we had to do 2x 2 weeks sentry(?) to protect your american asses at the gates hrhr. Means i had to check ids so nothing fancy ´bout that.
But it was "cool" to be called rascist asshole for checking black people at a friday night at 4 o´clock, arriving with there mercedes from the disco in kaiserlautern. You know for drugs, weapons...bombs etc......the usual stuff ^^. It was even more funny to see how small they became when the MP arrived, after we had enough of this bullshit.
