Efnet is total shit when it comes to shit like that, but if you connect to specific servers... "/server irc.umich.edu" for instance, you can get in.

Or if that doesn't work, the server status window should give you a set of letters, so you type "/quote cookie :*********" Where the stars represent the letters displayed. Remember the colon, too.

there's certain EFnet servers that don't use identd, I remember finding an efnet website which listed them once when I had the same problem, but.. sard.

*shivers* Trillian... i have pro and i can't stand it. You can't cam *unless you get a plugin* and sending files is hard to do.
But it is nice to have all 4 IM's in one place (including ICQ).
I applied for the alpha beta of trillian Astra. It looks like it's gonna be decent.

I just got it for that reason and I'm still trying to play with it and figure things out. It seems that my problem with IM's is that this person is only on this or that one. Drives me nuts. I don't think I will get ICQ again though. I didn't much care for it back in 2000. I just have Yahoo at the moment, but I never check as none of my 7 contacts are ever on it hahha! I plan on MSN, and Aim if I get it working though. I'm intrigued by skype but never got around to it.
But I figured the IRC would be easier on me on trillian but I can't get it to work on it, let alone when I have IRC open. I feel brain dead because a DM on an online D&D game years ago insisted on using IRC. I remember it took me a moment to get on then too.
I will give it a shot again, and maybe if I can get IRC working I can then simplify it and get trillion to work with it. I don't suppose you ever farted with the IRC on it yet? If so could you tell me what to do with it Steve?
