Illegal immigrants protest

the other day I saw a dude in a dashiki walking into kroger. I almost spewed my soda laughing.

Ha! Excellent mental image.

I have no problem with immigrants, Mexican or French or Japanese, or whatever. I really only get to see the effects of illegal Mexican immigrants here in Texas. The key word being ILLEGAL. If they were legal and paying taxes, and not eating up welfare and healthcare and LEGAL, I wouldn't give a damn.

My two closest friends are Mexican. However, Edward's mom barely speaks English, has a job cleaning houses and being paid "under the counter". That is, when she's not sneaking Mexicans into the US for phat cash. She has so many kids, that she lets random people claim them as their own on tax returns for a percentage of what they get back. She refuses to learn English, and calls Edward to translate. She came over here to HAVE Edward to stay in the county, and he's almost 26. 26 years and she doesn't know the language. My other friend's boyfriend is an illegal immigrant. He has no papers, no license, she can't go out anywhere with him. He drives around with no insurance or registration/inspection, and steals liquor bottles from his job for extra cash. His sister is unmarried, came over from Mexico with him, had 5 kids, is on welfare and other government programs, and they buy her food stamps from her. My dad was in a car wreck recently. The woman was illegal with no insurance.

My boyfriend works for a local PD and a good percentage of most of the workers time is spent processing people that wind up being illegal which takes up who knows how many amount of man hours, and the officers are REQUIRED to learn Spanish.

I know there are probably many white people that do the same, and illegals from other countries. But this is what I run into here. I'd still bitch about the things that most of the people do, but if they were legal, I'd have one less thing to bitch about.

jeebus you should see some of the white hilljacks who live around here. shiftless, no account people with sloping foreheads and unibrows.

a few years ago I actually saw a 300 lb woman in bib overalls and a tank top, so that her arms were exposed; across one beefy bicep was in letters an inch high, tattooed "Lick my Pussy"

It was a new low for human devolution.

This is exactly what I mean......I'm done now.

I'm in columbus ohio. What tipped you off, the use of the term "hilljack"?:)

In my neighborhood, you can tell the mouth breathers cause they have a tendency to sit out on the front stoop, their double or triple chins sweating, their porcine eyes like raisins embedded deeply amidst a tapioca like face, as their brains try to dimly process the sensory input of their neighbors/future-cannibalism-victims-if-things-go-south-in-a-hurry

Nope. A couple of years back, I took the family on a Los Angeles to D.C. (via Chicago) cross-country train trip. When we got to Ohio/eastern PA, I found myself in complete shock to see how people are living in the rural areas. I mean, tents, tarps, beatup trailers, buses....all kinds of crazy shit. There was this one river that had shitloads of people living (barely) on the banks. I thought that they were camping at first, but nope. It was a sad and incredible thing to see - especially for someone from California. Your description of those people that you mentioned fit perfectly into what I saw.

I must admit, I am quite surprised to read so many comments against (illegal) immigrants on this forum. Now I need to keep wondering why I’d think of this group otherwise… :Smug: But, in the meantime, here’s what I have to say…

First, I am so lucky that some of you had no power ten and some years ago to make decisions about my life because, back then, I happened to be wandering around the world alone as a young refugee and a genocide survivor. It is quite disappointing to learn that, if I had come to your country illegally, without speaking a word of English, and if I had refused to learn the language because I had already had enough support networks around me, you would not have found it reasonable to let me find a home in your vast, and might I add, still largely unpopulated country. Some of you may say, that’s a whole different story, but it really isn’t… The point is always the same: you don’t know why people are choosing to become illegal or legal immigrants, you don’t know what courage or circumstance it takes to become one, and you don’t know why they are not learning "your language". Unless you try to live illegally or legally in a different country, and learn on your very skin what it means to be perceived as a dumb-fuck and a stupid, greedy foreigner, you can't begin to have any idea about what kind of life that is.

So the way I see it, nothing gives people the right to discriminate against those in need based on some 'neighborhood wisdom.' I can’t believe that I find your comments so inappropriate that I’m actually almost glad for having experienced some awful things in life beyond ‘my boyfriend left me,’ ‘when will NM come to my town?,’ ‘when will I get to spend money on my favorite band shirt’ etc, because today, I can say that I am proud to be American for all the reasons that some of you obviously are not.

Second, I find it admirable that the US continues to be just about one of the few (if not the only?) place on this planet that will open its doors to members of any culture, speakers of any language, and allow people to preserve their cultures and languages. If that’s not wealth, what is? So, among other things, I find it great that the immigration service is bilingual. English is not the official language in the US, so what’s the big deal if an office that deals with so many Spanish speakers provides services in Spanish as well? America’s society is changing, and it’s great that people recognize that English is no longer the only dominant language.

Lastly…there are so many native speakers of English on this forum, but I wonder how many of you born to English-speaking families are actually literate, capable of communicating, or getting an advanced degree in a foreign language? If you look around yourself, you’ll find many cases of immigrants who are doing just that. And, if you speak a foreign language, how many of you learned it by working for a minimum wage in a foreign country and attending community classes in the evening? Yeah, what a fucked-up, rhetorical question….:zombie:

Whoa, whoa, whoa......:Puke:

10 years ago I was warning American citizens that if we don't do something about ILLEGAL (that means it's against the law FYI) immigrants NOW, we will pay a hefty price in the not so distant future.

It's unfortunate that you were a refugee from some (unmentioned) fucked up situation on the other side of the world, but what makes you think that WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES are responsible for providing you with a safe and comfortable life? Maybe you think this way because illegals and pacifists have distorted your understanding that America is a sovereign nation. It's not a goddamned free-for-all! Sure, we are a melting pot (as the cliche goes), but everyone here is SUPPOSED to follow the law. If you get caught breaking the law, then guess what - YOU GO TO FUCKING JAIL. Bottom line. If someone comes to our country illegally, then don't we have the right to deport them? We are a nation of laws, and sometimes people from lawless and corrupt countries just can't grasp that notion.

I know exactly why the majority of the illegal aliens in this country come here illegally. I know exactly why they don't want to learn our language, too.

I have many more pics like these. side - The ICP one is funny though.

Your "proud to be an American" rant is insulting. I can't speak for anyone else here, but I have put my life on the line for this country and what it stands for. I'll do it again if I have to. While you're talking all that bullshit about Americans, remember that plenty of us have bled for YOU.

Believe it or not, there is an actual "culture" here in America. It's relatively new, but there is one nonetheless. People who agree with me know this, and we fear that we will culturally take a HUGE step backwards by allowing SO MUCH of the Third World to interrupt a beautiful thing in progress. I personally don't want to put my life on pause to help out people that don't give a rat's ass about US.

To me, it sounds like your problem is with life and human nature. We all have our strife and struggles somewhere down the line. Everyone has a story, dude. I'm sure you've been through hell, but so have I - and so have billions of people before me.

good to see someone like you here:)

Christ.

When did xenophobia and outright patriotism to the point of stupidity overtake common sense in America? You're all immigrants of some form, and FYI the ideals your country stood for have long since decayed.

I can understand your point dude, I really can, but try to see outside the American-Box for a moment.
