I dont think that the whole "we are all immigrants to the USA" argument holds anything at all at this point. Sure, everyone migrated to this land and established a country.. but now it is a fully running, independent country which is filled mostly with people whole were born here in America... thus making us Americans, not "people who came from people who migrated to here."
I agree with just about everything MetalKingdom has said. We have an established WORKING system, and for someone to come and ignore that system, will be throwing a wrench into a gear. If someone enters our country un documented, and goes on a murder spree, what are the chances of anyone ever finding the guy? He's faceless, nameless, and completely unknown to the US.
Sure that example is a little extreme, but it could happen.
And yes, most of them dont give a shit about this place, the protestors who were marching around with the American flag were only doing it to try to get us citizens to side with them because they know we're all so "patriotic" and love our country... so if they hope that by showing some love for the US that all of the flag waving citizens will think "well they are proud US citizens and love America, lets treat them like Americans!" But in reality, they probably dont give a shit about the US, just like none of us really give a shit about Mexico.
When it comes down to it, I think that if any of them want to be US citizens.. then they should become US citizens… nothing is stopping them, just do it legitimately, become a real US citizen, learn the language.. then you can get a job doing something other than picking strawberries for 20 dollars a day.

I think it's a bit of a stereotype that none of those people want to become citizens. I'm sure many of them do.

• You obtained permanent residence through the 1986 amnesty law.this may well happen again; one thing they've talked about is anyone who can document they've been living here for more than five years would get amnesty

I can't claim to be an expert but I knew some of this stuff cause my sister became a citizen.

I've lived with and around these folks (los illegales) for 15 years and I've never heard any one of them say "America is a great country", or anything to that effect. He is a hero in my eyes, and one of the only "politicians" who aren't influenced by money and corporate interests. Did you guys know that illegals are allowed to VOTE in California? That's right! Mexicans man the polls and allow millions of these people to vote - even though they don't have the right to do so. I'm telling you guys - we are about to lose our country!!!
One more thing - I grew up on Navy bases, where there are many Filipinos. Many of these people are citizens of the Phillipines and serve in the U.S. military. These people work hard, live amongst us as Americans, and when the day comes for them to be actual citizens - it's the greatest moment of their lives. I've worked and produced two naturalization ceremonies at the National Archives in D.C., which is the "holy grail" of ceremonies for legal immigrants to this country because they are sworn in in front of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. There are people from all over the globe attending these events, and I can tell you from first hand experience that it is one of the most moving things a person could ever witness. The powerful emotions that these people (and those of us watching) feel after taking the oath help solidify their love of this country. In both programs that I was at, there wasn't one single person from Mexico in attendance.

I do have to say it boils my testicales when I see a US/Mexico soccer match on US soil and all the dark people are cheering for the mexicans.

You could of left "blacks" out of that statement, since they are partly responsible for building this place, and are Americans by right of birth. Poor people always "breed" faster than those who are economically more fortunate. That's a fact wherever you go. Latinos have already taken over as the minority with the highest populus, and it's been theorized that they will be the dominate race in the U.S. within the next 10 years.
