and Primordial kicked an UNBELIEVABLE amount of ass despite some pretty serious sound problems! pictures to follow eventually. what an awesome trip!

NAD:

Yes! from the Sentinel Records store in Dublin, but only 2 cause they were almost 20 euro each.

Primordial - The Gathering Wilderness LP and Falkenbach - Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri LP

unhinged:
great trip, and yes, my girlfriend's uncle Patsy is the perfect leprechaun-like old Irish guy stereotype!

Keeley:
I missed half of Scald's set 'cause the place we went for dinner didn't bring the bill for half an hour after we finished, then I couldn't find the venue (found the bar part, but the stage was out the door, down the street and around the corner). So I never got to talk to Paul (sorry about that). I got to the bar, and saw the Primordial drummer standing by a backdoor to the stage, so I asked him what was going on, and he told me where the entrance to the concert venue was, so my girlfriend and I finished our drinks as fast as we could (which involved me finishing much of hers to speed things along) and ran over to see Primordial.

In short, Scald was great despite only seeing their last few songs and not knowing any of them, Mourning Beloveth was boring and I don't think I'll ever appreciate their style of music, and Primordial was pretty much the best live show I've seen in a long time. When they played The Coffin Ships... wow. A.A. is pretty much the best frontman I've ever seen, covered in blood, and aggressive as fuck, really getting the crowd into everything and moving around a lot. Of the rest of the band, the drumming was very good. The bass kept cutting in and out of the mix, which pissed off the band but they kept going anyways. I talked to the guy at Sentinel Records the next day and he said that Primordial actually put on a bit of a weak show by their standards, but it was my only chance to see them, and it was incredible.

I could go on forever about the rest of the trip, the beautiful country, the ridiculous number of bars in each small town we passed through, the amount of beer consumed in a 10 day period, etc. but you guys don't wanna hear it, so we'll just leave it at that. pictures on the way soon.

THIS REMINDS ME of when me and my two older brothers were in Stockholm this summer and found an irish bar and wanted three beers and they said "sorry mates we're just about to close" and we said "lölz just give us the beer, we'll be out in a minute" and we got our beer and all three took 'em in one.. urghh whatever it's called, and then we left and felt very cool and asked some guy where we could get cheap beer and he directed us to a place down the street and my niggerloving brothers started talking to some fags in the line and bla bla after a while one of my brothers asked what kind of place that was and one of the fag my pals said "ehh.. I don't really think this is a good place for heteros" and D A M N few are the times I've magically disappeared that fast. OK story got a bit off point but fuck it.

You = ruly. Me = envy.

If there is one band I want to see live right now, it's Primordial. Shame they got the puppet show stage at Wacken at 3am. The Germans are so clueless. :tickled:

Best Irish beer that you hadn't drank before?
