You'll be there....WHERE?! I'm desperately seeking a place, pub, club to go to in Cologne...this city is like a desert....but you don't live here, do you?

ah i'm moving back to cologne after 2 years. pubs is a problem though, but you can check the live music hall, they have some good concerts every now and then, plus every saturday some kind of metal evening, but more towards nu stuff. on 1st floor there's a tiny club with ebm on saturdays.
and for just hanging out in bars and such, check the Südstadt, pretty much going on there. I recommend the Museum, a nice bar with the interior all made of rusted car parts.
Bonn is also worth checking sometimes.
